He is not straw-manning. He is extrapolating your argument because you refuse to address the elephant in the room.
Except I did address it and instead of addressing what I said, he strawmanned my argument.
I asked before....
Do Any of Those Defending OK/WP Signals as "All a Joke" actually assume that everyone caught using the symbol is in on the big laugh? All of them? Or would you concede the power of the interwebs and that it's more than possible, but probable, that these ignorant miscreants really think they're making hand signals to show their fellow bigots that they've got company?
I've already agreed that some idiots don't understand the origin of what they are doing, and yes they think they are doing some sooper special WP signal. The joke is on them too.
When we see members of the KKK, or the American Nazi Party, or Aryan Nations, or any of the other White Supremacy organisations flashing it to each other as an official symbol such as the swastika or Hitler salute, then sure start getting upset about it, but while it is just a handful of wannabe white supremacists
* with zero connection to the official groups, and the vast majority of people doing it are doing so because it upsets Liberals, then it's not something to get your panties in a bunch over.
Again, who thinks it's funny to pose making racist symbols, even jokingly? I'm a cynical nasty-mouthed individual and was described by a friend once as a "shock jock without a radio station" because I will sometimes say whatever pops into my head. And I would NEVER want to appear to be something I'm not. "Hey, I'm gonna look like a racist in the school year book because it'll piss off the liberals!" Nope. Not if I'm not actually a racist. How much more likely that it was, "Hey, we can pretend to be posing for a casual picture but be defiant rebels and show the libtards and darkies what we really think of them!"
Here's the thing though, the symbol IS NOT RACIST!
The only people that think it is are a few idiot white supremacist wannabes who do it because they are dumb and don't get that it's a hoax and think that flashing it somehow makes them connected to something they aren't really a part of, and a whole lot of Liberals who have fallen for the Hoax hook, line, and sinker. Get it, it's only racist in
your mind.
The vast majority of those doing it, aren't doing it because "it's a racist symbol and doing a racist symbol will upset Liberals", they are either doing it because they know it's a hoax and want to upset liberals, or they have heard that if you do it, it will upset liberals, and they want to upset the liberals because the silly liberals have fallen for the hoax and think it's racist.
It is no more racist that the Jesus Fish would be if I started an Internet rumour that anyone with a Jesus Fish on their car is a Racist and it's a message to each other, and got a bunch of other to help me make twitter accounts and Facebook pages and use them to bombard the media with that rumour until they started reporting it and liberals started to fall for it.
Just because a whole bunch of Liberals and a few idiot White Supremacist wannabes have fallen for the hoax, doesn't actually make it suddenly become true.

Note this really well. When I say White Supremacist wannabe, I'm not saying that they don't believe in white supremacy, that they don't hate Jews. Blacks, Muslims, and others. I'm talking about someone that is outside of the main organisations and has zero power in influencing the main movement. People that want to be a part if it, but they aren't a member, rather they're a hanger on, going to webpages and stewing about it in their "mum's basement", all the time making themselves more and more extreme in their own little echo chamber. Now that doesn't make them not dangerous to others, in fact if anything the wannabes are far more dangerous than members of official groups. Official groups keep their members on a tight leash, they moderate each other's behaviour because lone wolves who go on shooting rampages is a bad look for the entire group these days. Wannabes aren't held back by that influence of their peers. Instead they stew and write up their manifestos and then they go and shoot up a mosque, synagogue, or a black church. Wannabes are the real dangerous ones, but they also aren't representative of the vast number of White Supremacists out there. The vast number look and act just like us, and are harder to locate, and they certainly don't go around making silly hand gestures designed to upset Liberals.
