CNN Doxxes a gif maker

Evasion noted.

It is fine, testing your own arguments is an effective albeit sometimes scary thing to do. You chose not to answer your own question, but wrote evasion noted, which is a thing I guess.

Now you did that despite the fact that my post gave you a huge hint!

When i wrote 6 million reasons I was referring to the $6 million in compensation he received as part of his major publishing and movie dea, which is why he "had" to ( ) "accept the consequences of what he produced and published."

I thought you would have jumped on that, instead you typed "evasion noted."

Curious decision.

My whole picture is a PNG.

I wanted Argumemnon to look at the picture that contains an image produced by the GIF, and the image produced by the "higher resolution" mp4, and tell me which is which.

Spoiler alert - they are the same crappy resolution, indicating the mp4 was derived from playing the gif.

Your PNG is at lower resolution than the original images. Information has been thrown out. You can't compare the resolutions of either side based on that image, because they've both been scaled down. If one of them was scaled down from (say) twice the size, and one was scaled down from four times the size, there would be no way to distinguish them after scaling. One needs to compare them BEFORE scaling, and that's impossible to do with your image.

You're making such elementary mistakes regarding resolution, one has to wonder if you understand what any of it even means.

The video I've seen seems to have some "CNN" frames that the gif doesn't have - and I'm not just talking the reversed order and repeated ones, either. They are where The Donald is getting up and starting to walk off.

You might want to check that. I've not done a total frame dump, though, so it's possible that my gif isn't being fully displayed or something. ...or even that the one I (we?) have has been truncated from the original.

I got my gif from this link, btw:

https://i.redd.it/yf1opxjwlo7z.gif

Also, the following youtube video appears to me to have all the original uncropped and unedited footage:

Thanks, I agree about the walkign away, that was my reference "The video was created using the gif, and additional sources, "

If there is a mp4 with the CNN logo, that the gif was created from, CNN was unable to find it on the internet.

I have not seen any other references to an original mp4 file.

That takes me back to the original CNN claim about derivation.

If trumps tweet wasn't derived from the gif, what source was it derived from ?

I'll ask again, TBD, since you insist upon evading the key question.

Why should HanAssholeSolo not accept the consequences of his actions?

I don't believe you because your claim is obviously not true.

And yet later in the very same post you A) agree that the video is not the same length and thus cannot be made from the GIF and B) you even agree that my alternative is credible. You're now only disagreeing on the resolution.

 nice. focus on the argument.

I will once you stop making it personal.

Which is why i say you didn't actually compare them.

I DID. Stop making up reality as you go. If you look at the GIF you'll see that it doesn't even have the same FPS. The video is far more fluid, and that's in addition to being longer and having sound. And from what I can see, a better resolution.

I know their length is different. The video is repeated in the mp4. There is also additional footage of trump walking away.

So the video can't possibly come from the GIF! Why can't you see that?

Alternate theory - there is a mp4 file with the cnn logo that was used to create the gif, and was given to someone in the WH who add the FNN logo and gave it to trump to tweet. If that is true, it's really news worthy.

More likely the video was found on the internet and Trump found it funny. The GIF was made from the same source.

CNN has been around since 1980 and now you are pretending to be all butthurt about CNN.

lolz! I enjoyed that post! Kisses fingers in the French style!

Take a completely irrelevant historical fact and couple it with something you just made up (i.e. that I am "pretending" to be "butthurt") and then thank me for that thing you just cobbled together! Fantastic!

"The GIF has been around since 1987, and TBD is all butt hurt about a GIF. Thanks much. That makes perfect sense."

Fantastic!

No , for this purpose, what I did is fine. both files (gif, mp4) were 640x360

Why should HanAssholeSolo not accept the consequences of his actions?

Say, now you dropped the Klein thing! Wise choice!

It seems that "han...solo" did accept the consequence of his actions (although what those are exactly at this point and why they are newsworthy given that CNN lied about the source of the content in trump's tweet is very unclear).

We have primarily been focusing on CNN's extortionate conduct here in forcing some irrelevant shlub to accept those consequences, while "reserving rights" to out him if he does anything KFILE does not like.

And yet later in the very same post you A) agree that the video is not the same length and thus cannot be made from the GIF and B) you even agree that my alternative is credible. You're now only disagreeing on the resolution.
The hilighted is not true. This is such a terrible demonstration of logic that I wonder how you didn't spot it before posting.
I will once you stop making it personal.
Not believing you is not "personal". Calling me an ass is.

It's nto more fluid, it;s the same resolution.
So the video can't possibly come from the GIF! Why can't you see that?
Becuase your logic is wrong.

AS I ALREADY DISCUSSED
I'm trying to deal in facts we can know or not know. ... Obstinate resistance ? I'm just curious. CNN made a claim. It's not unbelievable prima facie. So I was asking for evidence why I shouldn't believe CNNs claim. If there claim is false, I want to know the alternative explanation is.
And:
Thanks, I agree about the walkign away, that was my reference "The video was created using the gif, and additional sources, " If there is a mp4 with the CNN logo, that the gif was created from, CNN was unable to find it on the internet. I'm interested. Share a link.

Sometimes getting access to a dictatorship requires a degree of realpolitik. Do you have a better idea?

I'm not sure having that access was important, or worth maintaining the silence. I think it might have been better to simpy pull out, and describe the compromises that would have been required.

Of course, while I'm critical of what CNN did, it's nothing near as bad as Walter Duranty.

Absolute resolution/Pixel count isn't the only thing here. Maybe that wasn't clear. The GIF is compressed because of the lower colour count of the format, and in order to save space.

And the downloaded mp4 file has the exact same low color and pixelization.

No , for this purpose, what I did is fine. both files (gif, mp4) were 640x360

Were. But not anymore. The PNG is much less. So there's no meaningful way to compare them using the PNG, any differences may have been lost in the downscaling.

I will answer for TBD: 'Because HanA**holeSolo shares my beliefs.'

Oh, bummer, you posted that after I answered the question! Bit of egg on your face.:(

By the way the contention that the "key question" is why some irrelevant shlub from the internet does "accept the consequences" is utterly ridiculous.

the key question is why CNN acted so self righteously, unethically and outrageously.

But lets focus on "han...solo" low hanging fruit is so delicious.

Leave CNN alone.

The hilighted is not true.

Technically, you're right. Someone could have gone through the trouble of finding an actual video of that wrestling match, then spliced extra footage from it onto bits of the GIF and made it so that you can't tell the difference, and added sound, but that would be monstrously stupid, as he'd just need to take the whole thing from the video. Your theory makes no sense.

It's nto more fluid, it;s the same resolution.

Elvis, I really think you don't know the first thing about computers and file types. I was talking about frames per second. That has nothing to do with resolution.

Becuase your logic is wrong.

How so? I've explained exactly why the logic works, and you've done nothing but nay-say me.

AS I ALREADY DISCUSSED

Then what the hell are you arguing for, if you agree with me?

And the downloaded mp4 file has the exact same low color and pixelization.

We must have looked at different files, then. That or your eyes don't work properly. It's patently obvious to me that the two are different in resolution, FPS, length, etc. The only thing they have in common is that they were made form the same source.

Nah. Is still accurate. No egg here! Might want to wipe your face clean though.

HanAssholeSolo posted to the internet. Consequences. CNN acted idiotically. Consequences.

Now. Why are you acting so self righteously and outrageously? Are you feeling ok?

Really? han..solo is a completely irrelevant nobody with no power on the internet; CNN is part of the world's third largest media empire, with multiple media platforms.

I am indeed feeling OK, because I can see the immeasurable gulf between the two entities.

I know, leave CNN and KFILE alone.

I may well have missed it.

When exactly did H.A.S. go public, as Klein eventually did?
