CNN Doxxes a gif maker

Really? han..solo is a completely irrelevant nobody with no power on the internet; CNN is part of the world's third largest media empire, with multiple media platforms.

I am indeed feeling OK, because I can see the immeasurable gulf between the two entities.

I know, leave CNN and KFILE alone.

Big font and colour! Now I'll believe you.. no. wait. You are still wrong and spreading fake news. Show me any post of mine where I said to leave CNN or the journalist alone (Who is receiving death threats! Just what you are celebrating!)

I may well have missed it.

When exactly did H.A.S. go public, as Klein eventually did?

Still focusing on an irrelevant internet shlub? huh.

You wrote "accept" the consequences, which he did, because he groveled at the feet on KFILE, apologized for offending KFILE, and promised to be good in the future to KFILE.

By the way, your repeated comparison to multimillionaire Klein and internet shlub han..solo is unbelievably vapid and specious.

Klein accepted the consequences of non-anonymous attribution (brought about by a process of investigative journalism) whereas HanA**holeSolo continues to hide behind his pseudonym.

EDIT: Any guesses as to why?

Technically, you're right. Someone could have gone through the trouble of finding an actual video of that wrestling match, then spliced extra footage from it onto bits of the GIF and made it so that you can't tell the difference, and added sound, but that would be monstrously stupid, as he'd just need to take the whole thing from the video. Your theory makes no sense.

It makes sense.

I agree it makes more sense there is an original mp4. Where is it ? Why won't the WH talk about it ?

Elvis, I really think you don't know the first thing about computers and file types.
Well, you would be wrong. Again.

I was talking about frames per second. That has nothing to do with resolution.

OK. How many FPS is the gif ? How many FPS is the video.

OR is this all simply based on your eyeballs ? It LOOKS more fluid and higher resolution to you ?

How so? I've explained exactly why the logic works, and you've done nothing but nay-say me.

How so ? See above. "Technically, you're right. "

Then what the hell are you arguing for, if you agree with me?

I don't necessarily agree with you. I think I've explained why understanding this is important.

We must have looked at different files, then. That or your eyes don't work properly. It's patently obvious to me that the two are different in resolution, FPS, length, etc. The only thing they have in common is that they were made form the same source.

Hmm, maybe there was a reason I asked you for the information many posts ago, and links...

What exactly is the harm in correctly attributing political cartoons or films to their original authors?

Then why didn't CNN simply report what they had found? No harm in that, right?

CNN itself reported on what the potential harm was -and then threatened that harm if the guy didn't change his ways.

I think "the news" should just report the news. If they had a story, they should have reported the story.

Then why didn't CNN simply report what they had found?

Presumably because HanA**holeSolo begged them not to do so.

Notice also that you dodged my question. What is the harm, in general, of correctly attributing editorial films or politcal cartoons to their original authors? Shouldn't that be standard practice, barring special circumstances?

It makes sense.

You think that my CT-style scenario makes sense? That's the kind of nonsense that CTers use to explain the autopsy photos of JFK, bringing up decoy corpses and the like.

I agree it makes more sense there is an original mp4.

Then we're in general agreement and all this bickering should be concluded by an ice-cold beverage. :alc:

Where is it ? Why won't the WH talk about it ?

Do you seriously expect this white house to care about things like that? They probably have no clue where Trump got it.

OK. How many FPS is the gif ? How many FPS is the video.

Noticeably so. You can't see it?

How so ? See above. "Technically, you're right. "

No, explain how so.

I don't necessarily agree with you.

Of course you do. You have said that my (reasonable) scenario is more likely. The only thing left to disagree with is the ability of your eyes to spot differences between the two animations.

Hmm, maybe there was a reason I asked you for the information many posts ago, and links...

I pointed you to a link and you still don't see the same thing I do. At this point what can be done?

There is no gulf. They are two private parties. They are equal.

I think it's important. Please, your thoughts on why no once can find the "orginal" mp4 ?

Your question rests on a presumed premise: CNN says they can't find it. I wouldn't trust CNN to find it, either, so that doesn't mean that "no one" can find it.

Trump obviously found it, and as I've argued to death, it's extremely unlikely to be from the GIF, since there's added data in the MP4, meaning that there is another source we still can't find, so it doesn't answer the question. Occam's razor and all, I find the single-source hypothesis far more likely.

That is ridiculous.

by the way, CNN is part of 80 billion dollar publicly traded media corporation.

But you said that one guy and CNN were "private" so "equal."

Well, I've been on a few different reddit threads, etc. Don't know that anyone found it.
I don't think trump found it either, clearly he can't do video editing, add FNN, etc.

I think if it were just floating around out there, it would be findable.

Oh, he sure didn't edit anything. He reposted something he found and that's it.

I think if it were just floating around out there, it would be findable.

I find it hard, but not impossible, to believe that it's someone in the WH who made the video for him to post. Besides, we're still left with the fact that the reddit GIF, for all its differences, is just a lesser version of the same content, so it must come from the same source. Did the WH give the guy the video?

There must be a simpler explanation.

Just putting this out there:

Since the guy Hansumthing took credit, isn't it possible that he made the video and then made a gif from the video?
