UNHCR: Climate Change and Displacement

Educate yourself and stop listening to Joe Rogan.
Oh, good grief. Do you really believe there was no conflict in Africa and around Lake Chad before? The problem in that link is obviously the Islamic terrorists who made that man flee with his family. But, no, there's like this kryptonite fear of criticizing "peaceful" Muslims. So it's gotta be "climate change." As you may know, Lake Chad is just south of the Sahara. That's a desert, by the way. And the ever increasing demand of agriculture over the many decades has depleted it. Lake Chad: A Shrinking Lake in the Desert

Historically, Lake Chad has repeatedly expanded and shrunk. Fossils show that the lake dried up six times in the past 1,000 years. You can see crescent-shaped sand dunes distributed in the desert that were formed by strong winds. Remnants of sand dunes are visible in the north and northeast of the lake. Those wrinkle-shaped structures or small islands in the lake were formed when the lake dried up in the past.

The recent dramatic changes are considered to be caused by irrigation agriculture developed along the Chari River and cattle breeding around Lake Chad. Human activity is accelerating the shrinkage of Lake Chad.

I cannot believe people believe this. Just amazing.

I cannot believe people deny this. Just amazing.

There is no evidence of "climate change" causing refugees.

It has started already but so far it's a minor contributor, with wars, persecution and economic deprivation still the main causes of migration. It may be decades before it becomes the major cause. But it will. Mass migration is not a temporary issue which can be solved by economic and political improvements. Thanks to climate change it is going to be a continuing, and worsening, problem for the foreseeable future.

Nice to see your habit of starting a post with an abject lie about me hasn't changed.

Good work. If you ever decide to be honest, I might read the rest of your post.
What lie?
I gave the new government a pass mark for their time to date, and that now firms to a gold star as Chris Bishop doubles down in his efforts to bring house prices into line with reality: https://www.thepost.co.nz/politics/...et-out-radical-land-use-and-planning-reforms/

These measures are obvious, but Labour failed to implement any of them.

Lower house prices are the single biggest issue NZ has faced this century and I can now confirm that I'll be voting National next election
