Strange that you make no mention of the atrocities committed by the Christian Pinochet, the Christian Mugabe, the Muslim Amin, the Catholic and Catholic-supported Franco. It's almost as if you care more about putting down atheists on the internet than the very real human rights abuses that religious believers have carried out. Have you nothing to say on this?

For how long did you live in China, TDB? How much travelling did you do there?
I'm asking because I've spent about a year-and-a-half in China. This is how I know about the suffering of the Uighurs, and the Tibetans (who you don't seem to care about at all, presumably because they aren't Christian), and how I know about the different treatment the Muslim Hui get- points you have also ignored.

Well I'm certainly not going to convert to Catholicism. My family has been Lutheran for literally as long as there have BEEN Lutherans. I have ancestors who attended the first Lutheran church, got married there, and listened to Martin Luther's sermons in person.

I look at the news about sex abuse cover-ups and predator priests being transferred from one church to another and think, "Damn, my ancestors have been right for hundreds of years."

I come from a long tradition of people telling the Roman Catholic Church to tot umfallen und Exkremente essen. I'm certainly not going to break with such a long tradition when the news cycle is producing reams upon reams of proof it was the right call.

Too bad. There are drug rehab facilities, but there is nothing for this except voluntarily going cold turkey - which typically only happens after a near death experience, if ever.

You are not telling the truth when you say that China's attacks on freedom of belief have not been condemned in this forum. You know full well that they have been criticised in many ways.
Therefore, you lack the truth when you say that references to other crimes are an attempt to justify those of the Chinese government. You know perfectly well that they are a demonstration that the crimes of the Chinese government are not due to its atheism.
You are not so foolish as not to realize the refutations to your foolish theory on the criminality of atheism. Stop fooling around that we are not fools.
