Atheists destroy churches, attack the faithful

It was, for a while (and mostly when people were not howling that criticizing atheists in China was worse than putting a million people in camps).

But reason and consistency from the people taking the time to expose the flaws in the arguments have eroded the objections that it was the result of atheism.

So now the question is: what are we to do about it?
Exciting times.

I plan on doing nothing.

What are you going to do?

I plan on doing nothing.

What are you going to do?

Several things:

1. I have donated to Human Rights Watch with a special notation that it supports their work with regard to the Uighurs/Religious in China
2. I have expressed my objection to the Vatican/China treaty
3. educated people here and elsewhere about the atrocities

Next, I am educating myself on the possible options the West has to object. And while I am just one person, my hope is that with your help (well, not yours I guess) we can sow the winds and reap the whirlpool!

Oh! My hero! I'm sure Xi Jìnpíng is loosing a lot of sleep over that.

So how long before Big Dog suggests Atheist should have to wear Scarlet A's in public?

Certainly Atheists are the true victims here.

poor atheists, being criticized.

poor atheists.

Since you are now so very concerned about atheists, then does that mean that you actually do care about human rights?

I have asked you this question many times and you have consistently failed to answer it.

NPR had a good series on this for Morning Edition. The one Chinese lady who married a Kazakh and moved there was forced to have an abortion, her brother sent to a camp, and when they finally let her return to Kazakhstan, she was forced to sign a bunch of papers that she would never tell the press what the Chinese gov't did to her.

Apparently, there are three categories of folks in the camps - those who traveled / moved outside China, Uighur and Kazakh ethnic peoples, and the religious. Presumably political dissidents find themselves there as well.

These have been some terrifying stories.

Thanks for the response. I respect those who act in favor of their causes rather that just talk/post.

To me this answers Crossbow's question about whether you care about human rights.

wow.

By the way? It is spelled "losing." You typed "loosing," which is not at all surprising.

Thanks for posting.

Very important point, I admit. Yes, I tend to confuse them. English is not my native language, but it should be possible to learn that one. Terribly sorry!

But, but, but, The Big Dog is working against his Gods wishes. The "Marxist atheists" are doing Gods work, with all that suffering they are causing. Suffering is good, (should be more of it), and is a blessing, (acknowledgement to Mother Teresa), and as The Big Dog pointed out above.:

"10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

and so on.

The Big Dog might be destined for Hell for these works.

New here, but I commend you. Not only for a change of opinion, but much more for your action. I'm looking into similar options (as you mention later). But there is still Syria, Macedonia, etc.

In the meantime, for people still struggling with the concept, I will let you know that there are a millennia of brilliant minds to help you on your journey. Here is as good as any place to start.
Oh, my god!
Of all the bragging that you have uttered in this forum this is the most shocking - you have not been able to read Amnesty International's reports correctly and claim to have read Augustine of Hippo's De civitate Dei! If you were not who you were I would say that it is amazing.
Please, explain what the book has to do with God's mysterious designs on Christians, power and martyrdom. It promises to be a great explanation.

No, this is not the case. As usual you have simply bored people into not continuing to respond. The refusal to address questions directed to you leads to this.

Congratulations. Your persistence and stubbornness “wins” you another thread.

.

Rarely have I seen anyone so obtusely confuse a blatant falsehood with an argument. Rarely have I seen anyone who believes that repeating over and over again an obvious falsehood leads somewhere.

Amazing! You are a unique case. Worthy studying.

I'm eagerly awaiting for your version of Augustine of Hippo.

You give The Big Dog too much credit. It's not worth studying a broken record.

Well, I don't know if the Big Dog's blah- blah would fit into the case of hallucinatory processes, elementary logic problems or religious propaganda techniques. All these cases are worthy of study.

Hallucinatory: he says to have read something that has not actually read. He sees the word "atheism" everywhere.
Fail of logic: he don't draw the correct consequences of the text he is quoting.
Propaganda: He repeats again and again the same falsehood, according the Goebbelsian principle that a repeated lie becomes truth.
As I have said: a worthy of study case.

TBD asks: So now the question is: what are we to do about [human rights abuse in China]?

atheists answer: bitterly complain about TBD.

So it goes.

Yeah, it is. But the idea that you think that this is characteristic of atheism rather than an activity of the totalitarian government of China is even more appalling.

query, we know that you said that my post was more appalling than, for example putting a million human beings in Chinese atheist reeducation camps, but I have been wondering if there is a scale for that?

my post more appalling than putting a million people in camps, that we know but:
my post more equal less than putting 1.5 million in camps?
my post more equal less than putting 1.75 million in camps?
my post more equal less than putting 2.0 million in camps?

Let me switch it up, some of those 1 million are atheists put there because they were helping religious people: less equal or more appalling?
