Higher intelligence

Someone told me to check out this site, and that there were some highly intelligent people in here, but after reading some of the posts, I'm sure I'm in the wrong place.

People with higher intelligence are usually open minded about things and can go with the flow of changing and accepting new ideas. I guess Sara Palin said it best, only dead fish go with the flow.

Just keep hammering that round peg, I'm sure it will fit in that square hole eventually.

What's the problem? We don't accept the word of a sleeping prophet or an uneducated fool over someone that actually studies these things?
Or is it that people were too stupid to be able to stack stones back then?

People with higher intelligence know better than to quote Sara Palin in a non-ironic sense. People with higher intelligence know how to reject stupid ideas. Way to go with your first ever post. I know we'll see great things from you...

declarations of war aside, what was it you were actually interested in

Good point. Me either.

Huh? It has a
square base and sloping sides
. When is that not a pyramid?

I just Googled it and it ain't much, is it?

The links in my post were to the lists of Mesoamerican and Egyptian pyramids. If you'd followed them, you would not have had to Google.Hmm, the Pyramid of NeferefreWP was never finished, but it's still called a pyramid. The Pyramid of Khendjer now only rises 1 metre above the sand, but it is still a pyramid.

At least Teotihuacan looks like they got around to finishing it.

In the case of Cholula, it hasn't been completely excavated and only partially restored, but archaeologists consider it a pyramid.

All that is being done here is excluding data that doesn't fit the a priori position of KotA.

You have ONE S.Am pyramid that is a little like one in Egypt.

If there was any correlation between the Egyptian and Mesoamerican pyramids, why is there so much variation between them?
For instance, the 2nd largest Mesoamerican pyramid, Pyramid of Flowers, (if you wish to exclude Cholula) has an area 28% that of the Pyramid of the Sun.
The 2nd largest Egyptian pyramid is 91% the area of Khufu, what's more, it's a better match for the Pyramid of the Sun, since it has a base area that is within 3% of the S.Am one, whereas the difference between the Sun pyramidand Khufu is 6%.

See how easy this is? Let's try numerology on these next to verify our numbers...

Whatever rocks your feathered battleship I guess, but I really don't understand the intent of this post at all.

Why are you trying so hard to convince me that the American and Egyptian Pyramids are unconnected in any way?

Wouldn't you be better off trying to convince someone who belives in a connection, rather than the most vocal critic in the thread of any connection whatsoever?

Lacking your extensive experience, I usually find that I need to lurk a little before jumping right in there and starting up with the insults.

It must be great to have the confidence to post away without this requirement, and I certainly look forward to getting a few more posts up so I can also enjoy this confidence.

Re-Horakty Nepherkheperure Waenre Akhenaten.

Let me guess, your favorite piece of woo , whatever that may be, is not accepted here, therefore the obvious stupidity and close mindedness. That's quite an original thought, never heard it before, really.

How close does it have to be in order to be "similar" in size ?

Now, if they were exactly the same size, you _might_ have a point.

I wonder how similar they'd look next to one another, or from flying above...?

I mean if you didn't have the mean to measure, would the 'look' the same size?

Sara Palin quote in first post!

It is not easy to show oneself as an complete idiot with only a few sentences. This helps us to remember that 50 percent of the population have an IQ below average.

So...these mathematicians and great engineers from another planet didn't care about actual numbers, they just wanted them to "look" the same?

Really obvious when you put it like that

You're going to very well in this thread. Straight to the topic, just like the rest of us.

:D

Hey yeah! Well spotted.

Well Mr Tsig-Smartypants, tell us about these feathered battleships. (beautiful plumage)

Are they aligned with anything? How many coconuts can they carry.

Enquiring minds wants to know.

Battleships always align with the Major Meridian and their plumage is wonderful. Therefore all governments are evil.

"...from another planet..."?

What the hell are you talking about, boy? Did you read the title of the original OP? NO ONE has argued who built these things, here. And no one has mentions "dudes from another planet."

Are you suggesting that things have to BE the same, in order to achieve similarity...OR do they merely need to appear to be the same size?

This does not look like a battleship to me.

they don't look the same (even from above(different size, colour, orientation)) and they aren't in any way similar, there are no true pyramids anywhere in the Americas so asking if theres any similar in Egypt is a bit pointless. Polynesian temples are the closest in appearance to American ones,

now that we've managed to clear that up, does anyone have anything relevant to this topic to add ?

Don't let the KotA's of the world get you down on the whole site. It's the existence of people like him that allow us to polish the E in JREF.
