AE911Truth.org to Ryan Mackey: "Debate our Rocket Scientist"

So are you saying it is unacceptable for a host on a TV show to introduce his guest by telling you a little bit about his background?
It is unacceptable for a host on a TV show to introduce his guest as something he is not in an effort to put him on equal footing with a mechanical engineer.

Does Ryan have a degree in engineering?

It is unacceptable for a host on a TV show to introduce his guest as a "NASA research scientist" if he is not.

Does Ryan's job at NASA qualify him as a "NASA research scientist"?

Ryan is referred to as a NASA scientist, indicating expertise.

It is a fair question to ask what this expertise is.

If he has no applicable expertise then he is speaking as a concerned citizen.

You don't fool me. Look pal, you failed miserably to hide your agenda in your 'fair question.' It wasn't worded as such. Your intentions and the direction you wanted to go shine through.

If you were consistent, you would ask the same questions about Szamboti.

Both people live and die by the facts and engineering expertise they bring to the discussion. By my dusty and long-unused engineering education, Mackey makes sense. Szamboti, not so much.
Since no one here seems to know, I googled Tony Szamboti and found this:
Tony Szamboti - received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University. Prior to that he worked as a machinist and manufacturing engineer in industry, and as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Navy. Since 1990 he has worked as a design engineer in industry, performing structural and thermal design, analysis, and testing to ensure survivability of antennas and equipment for use on ships, aircraft, spacecraft, and communication towers. He is a member of Scholars for 9/11 Truth & Justice and Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth.

I googled Ryan Mackey and got this:
Oops, not the same guy.
Search resumed. Stay tuned . . . . . . .

This proves you failed to read his white paper. On page 1, there is an explanation of his qualifications. Once again, try reading it and post the errors you find. So far, no one has been able to. Until then, STFU. :)

About the Author

Ryan Mackey is a research scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, specializing in vehicle autonomy and Integrated Systems Health Management for aircraft and spacecraft. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz and the Graduate Aeronautical Laboratories at the California Institute of Technology (GALCIT). He has authored sixteen NASA Tech Briefs and Technical Reports, and received two United States Patents for his original research. He has contributed to numerous projects including the Joint Strike Fighter, NASA’s New Millennium Program and Project Constellation.

He says he is a graduate but he does not say what his degree is for.

He does not describe what he does for NASA, just the projects he has worked on.

Ryan,
Is your degree in engineering? If so, what kind of engineering?
Bio engineering? Computer engineering? Mechanical engineering? Structural engineering?
What was the subject of the 16 tech briefs you authored?

What expertise do you bring to the table?

Chris:
As he has said and many of us too. His papers stand on their own. Can you refute them? What difference does it make what he does? The same papers written by a garbage collector would still be right.

Witness another 9/11 CTist who lacks basic intellectual skills. This time it's research.

Tell me Chris - why are you asking and not doing your own research?

Lazy?
Incompetent?

I can't think of any other options.

I assume "our rocket scientist" refers to Dwain Deets.

Mr. Deets has produced absolutely nothing that I've seen. Thus, there is no debate.

Needless to say, I had no part of this "discussion," nor has anyone from Architects & Engineers for 911 Truth contacted me about this matter on any channel, despite the fact that my e-mail is on the cover page of my whitepaper. I should also add that I tackled and refuted all of the listed "responses" in later drafts of that whitepaper.

The words "epic fail" spring to mind.

Just curious.

I'm sure this has been answered before but I just wanted to make sure... How many Architects and Engineers are actually members of Architects & Engineers for 911 Truth? Of those members, how many actually buy into the crap they're peddling?

This is something we will never know. There is no membership requirements (annual dues, actually participation in events, ect),thus no way to weed out the inactive members. Basically their numbers can only grow.

particularly with folks like
george jetson
fred flintstone
barney rubble

and that list grows...

of course on their website they now claim near 1,000 architectural and engineering professionals (which includes office managers, draftsmen, technicians, etc...) The total licensed AND degreed architects and engineers is under 300.

and that is being extremely generous...
That would be out of millions of engineers and architects around the world. So their membership is like one hundredth of one percent...

Do you know ANYTHING about engineering or government projects?

I would say no since you cant figure out the possible range of degrees he might have based on the description above...

Think truther think....what kinds of engineers would....

1. Work for JPL.
2. Attend the Graduate Aeronautical Laboratories at the California Institute of Technology (GALCIT).
3. Work on the Joint Strike Fighter.
4. Specialize in vehicle autonomy and Integrated Systems Health Management for aircraft and spacecraft

This isn't that hard....

Sorry C7 iss the only person I have on ignore, but he also exists in quoted form.

Who cares what your undergrad is in? An unapplied physics degree is useless (trust me).

C7 is so clueless he doesn't even know what he's looking at. His CV is pretty telling.

Sorry, it's just funny. It's like asking your doctor what high school he graduated from.

"I see, but did you take shop? That's very important to me"

That makes 10 non answers.

Tony Szamboti - received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University.

Hardfire TONY SZAMBOTI / RYAN MACKEY / RONALD WIECK / 1st PROGRAM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1u3KO9kUdE

In this video Ronald Wieck says "We do want to take advantage of the professional expertise of our guests."
Ronald then tells TV audience that Ryan is a NASA engineer. Ryan did not correct Ronald, he just nodded. In doing so he was affirming that he was a NASA engineer.

Ryan can speak for himself since none of you seem to know for sure.

Ryan, We know you got your degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz and the Graduate Aeronautical Laboratories at the California Institute of Technology.

The first thing that jumps out at you upon opening the paper is the formatting: To wit, it’s horrible. I know that sounds superficial, but it speaks to the overall care put into the work. There’s no discernable introduction or abstract, instead the paper opens with a short rant decrying the NIST report as having cost a lot of money while only producing a ‘vague’ explanation of how the towers collapsed, which suggests that they either haven’t actually read the report, or that if they did they didn’t understand it. There’s no mention of what they’re actually going to do beyond the vague concept of ‘refute the NIST report in a short paper using only simple maths’, which seems like a reasonably major omission and sends us into the rest of the paper stumbling blind. http://www.youngausskeptics.com/2009/10/when-literature-phds-attack/
I googled Tony and found he is a known engineer of great woo...
