Trump allies pushing for martial law if he loses midterms

Maga allies of Donald Trump have said the president should use martial law if the Republicans lose the midterm elections.

Participants in the Precinct Project & Election Integrity video call on Sept 30 streamed on Rumble claimed that voter fraud could take place in the November elections and that postal votes were particularly at risk.

The call is a regular feature of the Maga community, providing a platform for voices across the country, including Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist, and Tina Peters, a prominent Maga activist.

Peter Ticktin, a childhood friend of the US president and an attorney, claimed that voter addresses were being changed on mail-in ballots and were being used to commit election fraud on a massive scale and discount votes. There is no evidence of this.

He said, should the Democrats win, martial law should be imposed to check whether the election was “rigged”.

“What I’m saying about martial law is that in the event that the nightmare scenario comes through… in the event that [the Democrats] get enough Senate seats or they get enough Senators that are compromised… at that point, Donald Trump is not going to just turn over the country again,” he said.

National GOP pulling it's money out of the North Carolina and Georgia Senate races, pretty much conceding them.
Most pollstarg giving the Dems a 56 to 60% chance of taking the Senate.

Seeing lots of (R) candidates who were proudly declaring their MAGA credentials recently, suddenly wanting us to know they will be standing up to both parties. Remarkably few talking specific Republican policies they will oppose while boldly standing up to communism.

The spines they ordered from Temu must have started arriving.

In a year or two there are going to be a lot of people who claim they never liked him or supported him, how dare you suggest otherwise?

Only the best.

NEW BEDFORD — Republican candidate for lieutenant governor and New Bedford City Councilor Shawn Oliver was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence of alcohol and has since suspended his campaign for the statewide office.

The crash, which occurred Saturday around 11:40 p.m., damaged five vehicles and created a political firestorm for Oliver, with his own running mate calling on him to discontinue his campaign.

“After careful reflection, I have made the decision to suspend my campaign for Lieutenant Governor. This election is too important to be overshadowed by personal matters,” Oliver said in a post on his Facebook page. “I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported me throughout this journey and ask that my family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.”

I think Susan Collins will lose. Her opponent is good.
Jackson is a good candidate, but the polling is not looking as strong as I would hope.

Most polls done over the past week show that while Jackson is ahead, it is usually within the margin of error, and there have even been recent polls showing them in a tie, or even with Collins ahead. It does make me a little nervous. (I am not claiming "you cannot trust polls!". But polls this close do have to deal with the margin of error.)

It is kind of surprising... given the fact that so many democrats in traditional red states seem to be doing much better than other democrats historically (such as Talerico in Texas or Peltola in alaska) you would think their candidate in relatively moderate Maine would beat a republican quite easily, but that isn't the case.

Collins is a lifelong politician. She knows how to win in the margins. also, Jackson is still putting a high value on "civility" and "reaching Republicans". His policies seem good. His campaign seems to be the same over-consulted, mayonnaise on whole wheat sandwich.

In the Ohio gubernatorial race Vivek has pulled out his October surprise - an ad featuring Amy Acton's own mother calling her a liar.

Trouble is, her mother is estranged, to say the least, from Amy Acton. It seems that her (now late) husband had been SA'ing Amy Acton for years. Amy Acton's mother claims this is a lie but the courts determined otherwise and removed Amy (and her brother) from their custody. Acton's own brother has attacked the GOP for making this ad calling it a new low and noting that their mother stayed with the abusive husband until his death.

The GOP cannot help but prop up pedophiles.

That article is hard to read with all the cringe from the mother\GOP. I can't believe how consistently and recklessly the GOP is with their lack of research but the thing is their supporters will believe the mother. After all, Democrats lie. That's just what they do. There's nothing else to it but the problem is non-Republicans don't believe their nonsense off the bat. I can easily, EASILY see how this attack ad will cause more issues with the female vote for the GOP. Accusing a child SA victim of lying when there's documented evidence? I can't imagine a lot of mom's taking that in stride.

The best comment I heard from the place I found this: "Is the GOP campaign thinking the 'estranged parent demanding laws forcing their kids to let them see their grandkids' is even bigger than social media would have you think?"

In any case there are reports that this ad was being polled and not yet released - the claim being that it is a leaked ad. But the Vivek campaign has not disavowed it.

Not convinced on the first part; let's remember that he finished third in the Democratic primary for Governor. And the polling is scary because all the polls had Collins losing handily in 2020 and she won by 8.6 percentage points. Although I still think it's more likely the Democrats win control of the Senate (51+), I'd like to see more of their candidates pulling away. So far only North Carolina is a guaranteed pickup. Every other race is too tight for comfort. Here's the grid again:
StatePollingPoly
TexasD+2.2D-64%
MaineD+1.6D-65%
AlaskaD+2.2D-75%
OhioD+2.4D-64%
MichiganD+2.6D-68%
IowaR+0.1R-59%
KansasR+0.3R-63%

The Democrats need four of those seven.
