They need 2/3 to override a veto. Depending on what they're willing to do, they can still undermine it by other means (ie, through what gets funded and what doesn't). Obama is certainly going to veto an outright repeal, but even that might be politically useful for Republicans as long as the public continues to sour on the bill.

A few people admitted losing their ballots. Most people said they never got a ballot, and about half of those said it was because they had recently moved.

What caused the Franklin ballot kerfuffle? If you know.

My prediction was Reid and my reason was that people who hate Reid were likely telling pollers they weren't voting for him, but when it came down to marking that ballot, Angle was just going to be too unacceptable.

It could have been Angle's last minute offending of Hispanics, but I thought the polls were not going to be accurate.

I'm pretty pleased, myself. Yes, there was a bit of defeat on our side, but it wasn't a rout. Now the little Pubbies* are going to have to put out in that Congress. They cannot just obstruct the other side. Whatever they insert into bills to get the Democrats to block bills and look bad is going to be out there in focus in the public sphere. To repeal that commie health care bill the Pubbies* are going to have to write a bill that says your kids in college are going to get dumped from your policy, people with cancer who've paid insurance premiums for years can be dropped from policies if the private insurance crooks can find a single typo or a missed minor problem like acne when you were a teen in your initial application.

I bet the Republicans will claim victory by pointing to the number of seats they won. And there's no such thing as a lame duck Congress; the president can be a lame duck because he's term-limited.
 
Looking at the counties' estimated votes left to be counted tomorrow, and the trend in said counties for Murray or Rossi, it looks like Murray will be the winner.

Yeah! I am glad I spent yesterday and today doing my part. :D

I always vote in person. I have seen no sign of a problem, but, working nights, I no longer have that much contact with the people I hung with during the last few elections.

The only consolation I have in all this is that it looks like Murray is still in the Senate. I doubt that that sniveller Rossi would have been much use to our soldiers or to veterans who need the VA hospital here.
