I wonder if under a gov run plan he would have gotten it

And yes logging is very good, but its not for people who don't like hard work.

If it was medically needed, i guarantee he would have gotten it....and not a dime would have come out of his pocket when he left. Our taxes are higher, but there no worries of such things in our system.

Now I don't work in the medical profession, but I don't think I get to dictate to my doctor what he should do for me. I can suggest, I guess, but since he has all that fancy school learnin' he probably know more than I do.

I work and have private insurance and my medical decisions are made A) by the doctors, B) by the insurance companies (who, I'm lucky enough to say, have paid my way so far), and C) by me if I choose to go without. Option C seems the stupider one, in my opinion.

Typically, what happens here, is your case is evaluated to see if your illness is best dealt with via medical management (meds) or surgical intervention. If surgery is decided, then you are put on a list for the OR, and when your time arrives, you go in. If you are an emergency case, you are squeezed in between cases.

No one is refused, and you get the same service whether you are rockafeller or joe the logger.

Doctors advise you, and provide you with options. You may refuse any of them, at your own peril, but you do not dictate who does what or when.
