[Continuation] The Marjorie Taylor Greene thread - Part II

ANyway, MTG took on Kathy Griffith and got her butt kicked in the exchange.
MTG keeps on picking fights that are really above her league.

Link? I can only find MTG's response to Griffin, but not Griffin's retort.

What's funny is when MTG said this:
Ahead of Trump's rally in Pennsylvania last weekend, Greene accused Biden of targeting her and 'declaring war' on Republicans for his verbal attacks on 'MAGA Republicans.'

She said Biden and his party 'are using their position of power and they have declared war on all of us because Joe Biden basically said in his speech that we're the enemies of the state.'
So what did Trump not 'basically', but 'actually' say at that rally after MTG's little rant?

“This week, Joe Biden came to Philadelphia, Pa., to give the most vicious, hateful and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president, vilifying 75 million citizens … as threats to democracy and as enemies of the state. He’s an enemy of the state,” Trump said.

'He's calling us extremists,' Greene continued.

Well........yeah........

Won't somebody just slap this stupid bitch.

She is like definitely in the top 5 of people who are taking unfair advantage of the fact that we live in a society where you can whatever you want and not get popped in the mouth.

I'm just saying if she gets to present an Oscar next year they should let Will Smith back into the Academy just for one night.

She's high on the list of why it's a tough call between... 'omnipotence' and 'converse with all other animals'.

But really... a chop to the throat.
I'm thinking. [emoji52]
.

I'll start a 'prefered power' thread now (no poll in TapaCrap) and see how she'd fare.

Middle-school mean girl strikes again?

Let's not underestimate the danger emptyg poses. She's not a middle-school mean girl, she's a member of the U.S. Congress with a large following and who has attracted millions of dollars in campaign donations.

Let's not make the same mistake we made in the Summer of 2016 when many people -- me among them -- considered the idea of a bozo like trump winning the Republican nomination to run for president (much less actually getting elected) as being too ludicrous to take seriously.

You think? That's the action of an SS Totenkopf camp guard.

Actually not. A person should be happy to to be able to stand up, not to mention walk, after a kick from one of those. No, school-yard bully fits the bill well.

- The scary thing is that this is from a member of Congress.

Oh, I know she's dangerous. It was the particular move, more stepping on heels than kicking, that I could see, that reminded me of schoolyard crap!

I'm not American, so perhaps you could clear this up for me:
Is 'hag' only a misogynist pejorative if a Republican says it?

First 'split tails' and now 'that hag'. What pejorative name are you going to use next to refer to women?

Revolting hag.

For that matter, where does 'won't someone just slap this stupid bitch' stand? Is
it acceptable to call for physical violence against all women, or just Republican ones?

I cannot see the Atheist's posts so I went back to see what the context was.

The difference between what Warp does and The Atheist calling a woman a 'hag' or someone calling for someone to slap 'that bitch', is that the latter two are referring to MTG. As an individual, she has earned that name because of her behavior.

No, calling for violence against any women is not acceptable, but only a fool would think the poster was literally calling on someone to slap her. On the other hand, Warp uses his derogatory terms for women in general, going so far as to claim that the women he knows actually like being referred to as 'split tails'. That is misogyny. He determined Rachel Shelf is a 'hag', and a 'screeching Jane Curtain' from watching one video where she is passionately decrying the treatment of the Venezuelans at the hands of DeSantis. He just didn't like what she had to say even though none of it has been found to be inaccurate. It wasn't really about how she said it. But he'll only deny that.

Just to clarify, it's ok to call this particular woman a hag because you feel she has earned the title but it's not ok to be used as a term to describe women who you feel haven't earned it?

Is there a guide that I can use to judge women against so I know which ones I can call a hag?

Empty G is still too young for haghood. Is she a bag? Yes, of course. In grade school, she was called that.

By her teachers.

Anyone, female or not, who through their own numerous actions... including repeated lying, supporting the Big Lie, harassing a Parkland shooting survivor, and making false claims that both Parkland and M.Stoneman Douglas killings were 'hoaxes' to the point her own party removed her from any committees...reap what they sow. It's not a misogynistic thing, but an intolerance for fools regardless of sex.

Is there a guide that I can use to judge women against so I know which ones I can call a hag?

See above.

Like I said, there's a difference between a person being called derogatory names and misogyny. The former earned it as individuals, the latter did not just because of their sex.

Agreed. This is one dilemma of prejudice: If we really have no prejudice, we should be able to call a black male an idiot with muscles for brains and a woman a silly hag if we genuinely feel those individuals merit that description. The problem comes with generalization, even if it is only implied.

I think we can use the gum analogy on her.

Francesca Fiorentini on MSNBC: at this point Matt Gaetz is the gum stuck on Trump's shoe.

So MTG is sort of like gum on both of Trump's shoes.

And I daresay that few here would call Empty anything to her face. She can topple a grown man with her ugly mop-squeezer's fist.

Or worse, burst into tears.

Pat Sajak posing for a photo with Marjorie Taylor Greene is getting double takes on the internet...The "Wheel of Fortune" host stood shoulder to shoulder with the Georgia congresswoman and Right Side Broadcasting Network reporter Brian Glenn in a photo that popped up out of nowhere Saturday....The reactions are brutal ... people are saying that Pat's showing his true colors here, and some are even vowing to boycott his iconic game show because of this. One person jokingly said Pat was pictured here with Vanna Whitesupremacist...

Is this what you're referring to:

Just 11 Republicans supported that.

The eleven Republicans with any sense of decency. Even Kevin McCarthy has criticized MTG. Let's review some of the things MTG has done:

She spoke at a white supremacist meeting where they praised Russia and its invasion of Ukraine:

(MTG) spoke at a weekend event organized by a white nationalist who marveled over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as the crowd erupted in chants of “Putin!”
House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy called the congresswoman’s speech on the same stage “unacceptable.” Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said “there’s no place in the Republican Party for white supremacists.”

She implied the Las Vegas concert shooting that killed 58 people was a 'set up' to get anti-gun legislation passed:

“How do you get avid gun owners and people that support the Second Amendment to give up their guns and go along with anti-gun legislation?” Greene asked in an online video. “You make them scared, you make them victims and you change their mindset and then possibly you can pass anti-gun legislation. Is that what happened in Las Vegas?”

“I don’t believe (Paddock) pulled this off all by himself, and I know most of you don’t either,” Greene said.

She tried to blame a fire that killed 84 people on the Rothschilds and Gov. Jerry Brown:

Greene suggested a bank controlled by the Rothschild family, who are Jewish, a utility company responsible for the fire and then-Gov. Jerry Brown had a compelling motive to spark the blaze: clearing the path for a high speed rail project Brown wanted.

She told naturalized US citizen Rep. Omar and U.S. born Rep. Tlaib that “They really should go back to the Middle East.”

She called Nancy Pelosi is a traitor and said she should be executed:

“She’s a traitor to our country, she’s guilty of treason,” Greene says in the video, which CNN first reported. “And it’s, uh, it’s a crime punishable by death is what treason is. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason.”

She also “liked” a January 2019 Facebook post that called for “a bullet to the head” of Pelosi.

She claimed no plane flew into the Pentagon on 9/11 and the Twin Towers attack was US planned.

In November 2018, Greene shot a video in which she talked about the 9/11 terrorist attacks, referring to a “so-called” plane that crashed into the Pentagon. She added, “It’s odd, there’s never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon.”

She also “liked” a comment posted by a Facebook user in 2018 who falsely argued that 9/11 was “done by our own Gov.” Greene responded: “That is all true.”

She was suspended from Twitter for her numerous hate-filled transphobic attacks. These included:

“Teaching racism and promoting sex, homosexuality, & normalizing transgender to children is mental/emotional child abuse.”

She attacked a transgender couple who are raising a child:

"“This is CHILD ABUSE!!!!! This baby is in danger! Remove this child immediately. Caring for and raising children should have nothing, absolutely NOTHING, to do with fulfilling this man’s unnatural fantasies. Men can NOT give birth or breast feed. They are mentally unstable.”

Those are just a few examples out of many more that show MTG has well-earned her reputation as a disgusting, hate-filled person as well as for being stupid. She's earned being called "bitch" and "hag".

Pat Sajak went on record as a climate change denier around 2014, so it isn't that surprising.

That's funny but I doubt Vanna thinks so.

OK. I'm familiar with all that. Just for the record I was certainly not defending MTG. I was pointing out that nearly the entirely Republican House membership did NOT see fit to censure her.

Sadly, that's because most of them are Trump supporters or just plain cowards.

Yet that same McCarthy also said Greene and Gosar would be given committee assignments if the Republicans retake the house...:

From: The Hill
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Wednesday said that GOP Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) and Paul Gosar (Ariz.) will have their committee seats restored next year if Republicans win back the House despite their participation in a white nationalist conference last month.

To me, it doesn't matter how much hot air McCarthy wastes criticizing Greene. If he's going to restore their power/influence then his comments mean absolutely nothing. Even less than nothing, because he's saying both "these people are wrong" and "I'm giving these wrong people more power".

I would put McCarthy's comments in the same boat as McConnell's "condemnation" of Trump after the January 6th terrorist attack... an empty jester while he gives a wink and nod of approval.
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said “there’s no place in the Republican Party for white supremacists.”
McCarthy plans to give Greene back various committee seats.

Seems like Moscow Mitch is wrong... there is a place in the party for white supremacists. And its sitting on various house committees representing the republicans.
