Arming everyone seems nonsensical to me. We may just need to admit that we can't have it all.

Guns and a diverse workplace don't mix well together - businesses need diversity of people and ideas to maintain a creative edge. The addition of weapons to the work environment would be simply bad business.

The blind guy is not going to get 'special talkdown skills' training to make up for his lack of ability to use a gun. We are not going to attach rocket launchers on wheelchairs. The bipolar and autism spectrum employees would be in greater danger of daily misunderstandings.

We have enough guns and I don't understand reasoning that says the answer to senseless violence is to provide more avenues for violence.

A complication is that the Naval Shipyard was really a shipyard in the 19th century. Since WWII it has hosted multiple secret (uhhh, high security) facilities. While this wouldn't normally affect the sort of crimes there, there is a high security presence in the area. This no doubt will raise the voodoo factor that the CT depend upon.

The Navy Museum is there too, so the Yard is accessible to the public.

The regime wishes Nidal Hasan had been killed at Fort Hood along with his victims. As a DoD employee I have to do computer based training on personal security on a regular basis. One of the scenarios was a hostage taker at your hotel room door. The right answer used to be submit to their demands. Now the right answer is to physically resist until actually taken hostage.
