Shooter at DC Shipyard

The joy of Obama Derangement Syndrome is alive and well. Many posts on Facebook saying he'll get away with it because he's black - so Obama will see to it he gets away with it.

I'm debating with myself if I should tell them he's dead.

There are now twelve people confirmed murdered plus the shooter. Twelve people were wounded. The shooter is identified as a 34-year-old African-American man named Aaron Alexis of Ft. Worth. The FBI is now in charge of the investigation and they are seeking information as to why Alexis was in the DC area. They are not saying how the suspect got into the Yard. After he began firing he was engaged by responding patrol officers -- not a special squad -- and was killed as a result of police gunfire.

Of the two other potential suspects, one has been eliminated and one man is still being sought. Police have not confirmed he was involved, only that he could've been.

Tonight's Washington Nationals baseball game has been cancelled because of the stadium's proximity to the Navy Yard.

Do you really think that minor fact will make any major difference to them?

Is anything not a false flag?

The Fort Hood shooting?

That's the only recent tragedy I can think of that he doesn't call a false flag. But then again, I don't pay a lot of attention to AJ and he shovels an awful lot of ****. Maybe I missed it.

The 34-year-old African-American man named Aaron Alexis of Ft. Worth, identified as the shooter, seems -- according to people who knew him in Ft. Worth -- to be an unlikely person to be involved in an incident like this.

Alexis served in the U.S. Navy from 2007 to 2011. He worked at the Happy Bowl Thai restaurant in White Settlement, an ironically named suburb of Ft. Worth, as a waiter and deliveryman.

Nutpisit Suthamtewakul, owner of Happy Bowl Thai in White Settlement, said Alexis was “my best friend.” “He lived with me three years,” Suthamtewakul said Monday afternoon. “I don’t think he’d do this. He has a gun, but I don’t think he’s that stupid. He didn’t seem aggressive to me.”

Sandy Guerra-Cline, a customer at Happy Bowl and copy editor at the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, said Alexis had recently visited Thailand and had been to Japan with a computer defense contractor, where he worked in information technology.

Would bet some of these are the same idiots who were screaming about Miss America being an Indian......

Indeed. My love of country is taking a major hit today.

Dude, it's just a very small minority who feel the need to vent over every piece of news they stumble upon. Love your country just the same, because it isn't very different over here in The Netherlands ;)

Eta: The solution to those narrow-minded reactions? Don't read them! :)

"Ragheadistanis"

seriously?

No racism involved, I was talking about a particular set of terrorists. And I did no want to blame any particular country, since they were not sponsored by any government. So, my made up name was enough of a hint to get the response that the incident was identifiable.

Would I have chosen "Muslim" or "Arab", I would have been racist or um... religionist.

If you can find Ragheadistan on a map, I owe the residents an apology.

Why not just call them "terrorists"? Why invoke any modifier? What value does it serve?

Wait... let me get this straight.... There were no good guys with guns at a Naval shipyard? If only that place had had some armed teachers, nothing bad would have happened!

Where you're going wrong is that hundreds of millions of people wear "rags" on their "heads", but you're tarring them all with the same brush.

You could use your same logic to justify any slur you like, since no country is named after a slur. And, you would be just as incredibly wrong and seemingly racist then as you appear to be now, O Olympic Backpedaler.
