My letter to Prof. Chomsky

It counts
But limitedly to that particular country, which is out of 200

I do what I can do.
Did you do the same in regard to your President (which I assume was Bush)

If you are US citizen, then you are one of the few that criticizes their own country

No no
It is perfectly fine to criticize Japan

It is wrong to call all Japanese as racist pigs.

I'm sure the Swiss and a few others find that it is wrong that you call their country insignificant. Sounds borderline racist to me. They have a rich and varied history and a good functioning role in the modern world. even though I am not Swiss I find it offensive that you are dismissive of a whole country like that. Shame.

This thread has ample evidence that you are doing something: trolling

Then you should not feed me

Politically insignificant.
Yes.

I wonder how much of the world's money is hidden away in Swiss bank accounts? That doesn't sound politically insignificant to me.

They do not have a big army
They do not have a viable air force
They have a small GDP
They do not have nuclear weapons
Yes, they are insignificant at world stage

What is the follow on conclusion from your judgment there. Ignore the Swiss?

If so, how many of the UN members should we just blow off?

Most of them?

Help me out here. What are you getting at?

Swiss were like, mercenaries par-excellence back in the day before the rise of the nation-state in Europe.

You wanted the best - you bought swiss!

Then one day BOTH sides bought "the best", which was kind of a signal moment on their way to neutrality...

Not so insignificant really...

Looking at financial world today, definitely a Big Player still!

I mean, where else would drug dealers, corporate fraudsters, tax avoiders and arms merchants have the privacy they deserve??

Iran doesn't have nukes (yet) but they still seem to command a great deal of attention when they howl at the moon. Saddam Hussein's chestbeating about his nukes and other WMD (that he didn't have) gave Bush & Co. the excuse they were looking for to invade Iraq.

And you are completely undervaluing the power lent by control of a whole lot of the world's money.

Gret deal of attention by whom?
India, China, Russia, Pakistan and many other countries like Brazil and African countries do not seem to have many problems with Iran

Saddam Hussein's chestbeating about his nukes and other WMD (that he didn't have) gave Bush & Co. the excuse they were looking for to invade Iraq.

If you assert that another country has relevant quantities of WMDs and maybe able to get some nukes soon and this proves to be a lie and the war causes 200000+ daeths, the responsibillity oif the disaster stands on you, on your allies as well, as long with Saddam Hussein and the terrorists.
It is idiotic to scapegoat Saddam Hussein for everything when the invasion was an US decision

And you are completely undervaluing the power lent by control of a whole lot of the world's money.

Absolutely
I guess the Chinese and Indian honchos may be freaking out in their bed thinking at the Swiss prominent political and economic power.
And what about the other 190+ countries that did not prosecute Bush for crimes?

I'll tell you what, if bush ever travels to Australia, or Japan I give you my express permission to perform a citizens arrest on him, if you can find the appropriate laws.

Oh what the hell, I give you my express permission to travel to the US and do it if they have the applicable laws. No excuses now go do it and let me know how it turns out.

You can't say a country is unimportant because it has no nukes and then brush off examples of countries without nukes that have an impact on the rest of the world. You are a champion at moving those goalposts.

How the hell should I know what other countries are up to or what they think is important in their foreign policy? Those countries you seem to think a lot of - China, Russia, India, Pakistan, Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador (which gave asylum to your hero Julian Assange), "African countries" - have also not arrested George W. Bush. Are they spineless coward puppets of the U.S.? Why have they not arrested him?

Not only because of no nukes
As their GDP is ridiculous small in compared with China and US
As they have no army
As they are landlocked
As they have no relevant forces
As they have a small population

As (almost) no Government on Earth cares about the people of other countries?
Why should they get in trouble for asking GWB to be tried?

A pointless criterion, as most nations have no nukes.
As their GDP is ridiculous small in compared with China and US
Per capita or gross
As they have no army
Do they need one?
As they are landlocked
saves the cost on a Navy and a Coast Guard
As they have no relevant forces
Money is a force.
As they have a small population
So what? Is that why you are biased against them?

I didn't say they should or would get in trouble. I asked you why they hadn't done it. According to you, none of those countries is part of the U.S. hegemony. Certainly neither China nor Russia has any love for the U.S. So why has none of them attempted to arrest and try W?

I am not biased in the world stage as they are not economically powerful and do not have a big army or nukes.
No country without a big army, a relevant GDP and a big army is much relevant at world stage.
Liechtenstein is not either

Second point, almost no other country asked for the prosecution of GWB

Which was more or less my point

I told you: as they do not care.
Chinese Government and Russian Government are also responsible of human right abuses.
They are already doing just fine with their economies and harassing their own people, why should they get in trouble asking for the trial of GWB?
Why Japan should get in trouble with the US?

So then you want the leaders of these countries arrested as well? What about Mugabe or the war lords in somalia?
