Trust me (or don't) if nut boy in NK goes full on stupid he will go after the easiest target that might not get him nuked out of existance. Bad news (for your hope) that is not SK, Hawaii or the US mainland. So let me think about this. Hmmm major target, not anything full US engaged but ..... Oh, I think the nation of Japan just brought attention to the Un nut.

Well, Kim Jong Un is not going to start dropping nukes on Japan. And I don't see why it is an easier target than South Korea given that South Korea is right next door and they've already landed shells there in the last few years.

Besides, how is Japan not a place where the US military is fully engaged but South Korea is?

From what I understand, there are over 50,000 US service personnel stationed in Japan and less than 30,000 in South Korea. I had to look that up because I remember there being 70,000 in Japan and 37,000 in South Korea but the figures have come down since.
