Moderated Will the 2012 Olympic Games in London be held?

The prophecies of the Holy Spirit that the world war which will start from the trouble in the Philippines will occur on a Wednesday and that the 2012 Olympic Games in London will not be held, failed to materialize. Even though the Games will officially open tomorrow, 07-27, I cannot move the goal posts anymore because 07-25 is the last Wednesday for the month of July.

I would like to apologize to all of you. I am deeply sorry. I will refrain from discussing prophecies anymore and be tight-lipped on this. I will reconsider my belief that the Holy Spirit who we are talking to is the true Holy Spirit and so is my belief that Ka Apaz’ physical body is appropriated by this spirit. As I used to say, if we were to believe in a god, we have to be sure that He is the only true God. As God, He must be omniscient. That means, He knows the past, the present, and the future.

I don't think he did that.

He apologized, said he'll keep quiet about prophecies from now on, and that the message he got was from a holy spirit but not the Holy Spirit. (That entity was wrong, he seems to suggest.)

I didn't see where he admitted he was wrong. In fact, I didn't see where he took ownership of his claims at all.

Strictly speaking, he has only said he will "reconsider" his experiences with the Lady Gaga of the Philippines and Teh Holy SpookTM. IMHO, he has not yet renounced them.

I agree with you. And PeaceCrusader's continued inability to recognize where these prophecies came from suggests he has not learned much, if anything, from this debacle.

And his apology seems to have fooled quite a few folks here into thinking he admitted to being wrong.

And frankly, I think he's lying about his commitment to be "tight-lipped" about any subsequent prophecies. (Or again, he was choosing his words very carefully so that he's only committed to being even more circumlocutious about future prophecies--trying that much harder to make such claims while not owning them as his own claims.)

Earlier in the thread I mentioned that I'd been through all this some 7 years ago with another prophecy guy (an acolyte of Buffalo Bill Hawkins and his House of Yahweh doomsday cult). It was from that experience (which lasted a couple of years) I learned how truly slippery believers can be.
 
Lets hope that PC has actually learned something from this thread. Probably not, judging by his faux-apology.

I don't think for a minute that we've heard the last of the matter. The investment PC has made in all of this nonsense isn't going to just disappear because of a minor setback like the Olympics actually happening.

And I'm afraid I have no idea what he's apologising for. It's been quite entertaining.

Oh, I don't know... Maybe the world hasn't seen the last of PC, but I think he'll make himself scarce around here. He's sort of like Paul Bethke in that he interacts with others but just as with Paul, what people are saying seems to fall on dead ears. Aspergers? A variation thereof?

I agree that he's not going to change his ways. As I noted above, all his visits were geared towards finding out when WWIII was going to break out. Nothing was directed to other very important questions - world hunger, the 25 to 35% unemployment in the Philippines, global warming, telltale body odor, where to find a good hamburger at four in the morning... He's fixated on his end of the world scenario, and has invested too much of his life into it. I doubt that will change. I just think that maybe he'll be off to plow other fields where he'll possibly find a few saps to play along and he'll be promoting another end of the world scenario shortly.
