Moderated Will the 2012 Olympic Games in London be held?

Once the Olympics start, at the very least you will need to admit to yourself that it wasn't the Holy Spirit.

@Marcus, #1978

Yes, Marcus, I will apologize to all of you once the 2012 Olympic Games start on 07-27 and admit that it was not the Holy Spirit who we talk to. But I will continue my search for the true Holy Spirit because I believe in the Holy Bible. God the Father has spoken in the Old Testament. God the Son Jesus Christ has spoken in the New Testament. Then I will search for the true God the Holy Spirit. I hope that during my lifetime, I will be able to find Him.

On the other hand, if the 2012 Olympic Games is cancelled because of nuclear World War III, then I can say that the true Holy Spirit who we talk to prophesied it. Is that fair enough? We just have to wait and see in a few days.

I sincerely apologize to all of you for my wrong interpretation. It was a human interpretation. I think we have to believe more what the Holy Spirit says per se.
According to the transcript you posted, the 'Holy Spirit' didn't actually say very much at all. It was all you. You asked will this happen, will that happen and the 'Holy Spirit' just went along with whatever you said.

The Holy Spirit is very specific and definite – that the 2012 Olympic Games will not be held.
No. You were very specific. An old blind lady in a trance just assented to whatever you said.

Rely on your own interpretation or what the Holy Spirit says.
What does the 'Holy Spirit' actually say in those transcripts? You put your words into the 'Holy Spirit's' mouth and she/He agrees. I'm not impressed. I mean, I wasn't impressed to begin with, but I'm positively scornful now.

In the 1990s, the Holy Spirit said that the war will happen in the middle of the year starting at the trouble in the Philippines (http://aristean.org/pahayag018.htm titled “Ang kaguluhan sa Pilipinas”). He used to mention Spratly Islands occasionally.

Was that another example of your putting words into 'His' mouth? Do you have an example of your suggesting to the 'Holy Spirit' that such and such a thing will happen, but the spirit disagrees with you?

What you seem to have discovered here is the Holy Yes-Man.

several weeks ago I said:

PeaceCrusader, you have gone back on your word. You are a man without honour.

@Lamuella, #1977

True, Lamuella, I said that to you. And I apologize to you and to all others for I was wrong in believing that one of the Wednesdays under the sign of Cancer is the one when the nuclear world war would start. Please read my response to Explorer in message 1980.

The date 07-25, a Wednesday, is left. Like what I said to Marcus in message 1981, I will say that the Holy Spirit who we talk to is not the true Holy Spirit if the 2012 Olympic Games is held as scheduled. But I will continue my search of the true Holy Spirit because I believe in the God of the Holy Bible. I will stop my Internet activities like this. Most of all, I will recant what I have said. You may find that I am moving the goal posts a little further. But I have to do it. I relied too much on my understanding. It should have been only what the Holy Spirit says. We will find out soon.

i don't think you believe in this god. you rely too much on pagan arts. why don't you try pagan gods? you look more like a wiccan to me
answer honestly to the following question about astrology:
Do you say it is a pagan thing?

It's something anyway. I don't think an apology is necessary, but it would be nice if you went all the way and realized that Ka Apaz is a fraud, not simply channeling some spirit who is not the Holy Spirit.

As to the larger issue of your belief in Sky Daddy, I don't think there is much hope there, I'm sure you will finish your days with your belief intact.

This would not necessarily be the case: it could be that it was the Holy Spirit that told you that the Olympic Games would be cancelled because of a nuclear holocaust, but the Holy Spirit was lying to you.

Nu-uh! That's impossible! The True Holy SpiritTM would never lie! You see, he's still looking for the Holy Spirit, but he already knows all there is to know about "him"...

I'm kinda torn about my feelings re: this thread. On the one hand, I would like to believe in at least the possibility of prophecy. On the other hand, the problem is paradox. Let's assume (for the sake of argument) that I have the ability to receive true prophecies relayed to me from some entity. Lets say it's a small prophecy, say, I predict that President Obama will eat an apple for lunch tomorrow. I post this true prophecy on a web forum, like PeaceCrusader has done, and NSA flags the keywords and informs Secret Service (just go with me here) who promptly remove all the apples from the White House for fear of poisoning.

What happens now? The prophecy still has to come true, right, because it was a true prophecy. Since there aren't any apples to be had in the White House, and Secret Service is frisking people for apples and forming a protective barrier of 20 agents around President Obama, guns drawn, ready to shoot any apples that come within eyeshot - how does the prophecy come true? It *has* to come true, because it's a true prophecy.

The only possible way for the prophecy to come true would be for the laws of reality to skew (kinda like the Final Destination movies) and maybe a truck carrying apples skids off of Pennsylvania Avenue, accidentally crashes into the White House and into the Oval office, dumping an single polished apple onto the Presidents desk whereupon he calmly takes a bite out of it.

It's...well, I don't have the right words. Ludicrous? Farsical? The point is, once humans are aware of a very specific prophecy (dates / actions / etc), they can easily throw enough paradox into the air that extraordinary bendings of the rules of physics and statistics have to occur.

That's why so many so-called "prophets" have to be vague. The 0.0001% of them who may be true prophets (I don't know) also have to be vague, to give the laws of reality some wiggle room.

The exception I guess would be prophecies where God plays a direct, overbearing hand and forces things to happen, instead of granting us free will to do what we like. But if you're going to play that particular trump card, why even make a prophecy at all? Why relay it through some obscure old woman's friend who posts on a web forum? Why not spread blazing letters across the sky - "No more abortions, or I'll destroy you".

Every modern day "prophet" I've seen / listened to / read about has been flat wrong in their predictions. Sorry, "prophecies".

PeaceCrusader, I don't doubt that you probably believe in what you're saying. Unfortunately, that has no bearing on whether or not it is true. I don't doubt you are 100% certain that it is the Holy Spirit communicating these things to you. Unfortunately, that also has no bearing on whether or not it is true.

I wish you good luck on your travels towards a bright spiritual future.

Now playing: 10538 Overture.

If you haven't read it, or only seen the film, I strongly recommend you read Philip K. Dick's story "Minority Report".

Seriously, PC. Come up with some, any, metric by which the Philippines are anywhere near richest. I see 32 range for gross GDP and 120-130 range for per capita.

Nuts.:)

Many thanks for the info. I also thought that it is just “Pearl of the Orient”. The Filipinos should be taught about this.

Apparently, it is not only at the Smokey Mountain in Manila where people pick through the garbage dump but also in other third world countries. The Holy Spirit said that we are all equal. Whether one is the brightest person or the most powerful or has the largest mansion or most expensive car or the handsomest person or the most beautiful woman or the President or a pauper, we are all the same. We will all die. And we cannot take with us the conferred degree or accolade of our fellow human beings. We are all just one and a half liters of soil. Naked are we when we came into this world, naked also when we face our Creator.

Been done better:

2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
3 What profit hath a man of all his labor which he taketh under the sun?

11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

The Wednesdays under the sign of Cancer this year have all been gone. I thought that the war would happen in one of them. But no nuclear holocaust happened. I sincerely apologize to all of you for my wrong interpretation. It was a human interpretation. I think we have to believe more what the Holy Spirit says per se.

No, we don't. Because you have not given us a single reason to believe that anything has been communicated to anybody by any spirit of any kind.

The Holy Spirit is very specific and definite – that the 2012 Olympic Games will not be held. There is still one Wednesday which is before the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games – 07-25. Could this be the one? It is up to you. I don’t want to give my view anymore.

The only help I can give is that the date 07-25 qualifies as still in the middle of the year. The months in the middle of the year are June and July, and 07-25 is in July. If you disagree with this, say so. But please, do not take my word for it may be wrong. Rely on your own interpretation or what the Holy Spirit says.

In the 1990s, the Holy Spirit said that the war will happen in the middle of the year starting at the trouble in the Philippines (http://aristean.org/pahayag018.htm titled “Ang kaguluhan sa Pilipinas”). He used to mention Spratly Islands occasionally.

In other words, you want us to play the same game that you have been playing for decades: taking widely disparate "answers" to leading questions made at completely different times, adding scraps of poetry and astrology, and stringing it all together into a single "prophecy."

If I were going to rely on prophecy, I would most certainly demand more of Teh Holy Spook than "Ummmph."

You do not "have" to do that. You could simply admit that your prophecy has failed, and move on with your life.

But like others on this thread, I bet you don't ever quit. Instead, you will come up with a new date, again based on the flimsiest of reasoning (I'm almost disappointed that you haven't found a way to drag Nostradamus into this), and start hawking that.

Ask yourself, PeaceCrusader, why do you so desperately want to believe that the end of the world is nigh?

3/4 let's waltz

I do love to uke. I play a soprano, what size do you play ?

I mostly play soprano (high G), but also have a Kala concert that I use when there are lots of Bbs. I'm not very good, but luckily, my family thinks all ukulele music sounds goofy, so my lack of expertise does not much matter. ;)

And thanks for the extra info on squirrels.

Hey, no problem. I feel compelled to clarify whatever small obscurities I can in this Land O'Lunacy and its 40+ pages. The heavy lifting, I leave to more experienced JREFers.

your faith is weak and you certainly are not a True Believer™
"Ummmph" is the sure sign of divine inspiration. think about it: have you ever been answered "Ummmph" by the average 8ball? 8balls can't make True Prophecies™ as they are not holy spook approved.

I'm with JoeTheJuggler and SezMe on this one. An apology is meaningless. He didn't actually harm anyone here. He - and not the spirit or the blind woman - will be plain wrong. Admitting that would be a big first step toward actually learning something from this.

And sadly, but typically, it's something that won't happen.

A joke that makes the point about delusions: A man who suffered from the delusion that he was dead went to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist instructed the man to look in the mirror each morning for 2 weeks and say, "Dead men don't bleed."

He did so, and after 2 weeks returned to the psychiatrist who pricked the guy's finger so show that he could bleed.

"I was wrong!" the patient exclaimed. "Dead men do bleed!"

You're still missing the point. We reject YOUR claim that the Holy Spirit is telling you anything. Indeed, many of us (including me) reject your claim that the Holy Spirit even exists.

You continue to assert these beliefs as if they were facts. But they're not.

It's not a matter of "interpretation".

You have made false claims, and they were proven to be false.

I cited numerous bible passages that show that your own religion considers what you have done to be a very serious wrong.

[ETA: Your responses following the failure of the prophecy is exactly why I wanted you commit to admitting simply that you were wrong. I knew you wouldn't do so. Instead, even as you admit you made a wrong interpretation, you continue to make the false assertion you started with. Why can't you just say you were simply wrong? You have no reason to think you're in communication with any all-knowing entity since the communication you believed you received that was a prophecy has proven to be false.]

This is an interesting question. I've long suspected that in many cases it's ego. Some people just don't seem to be able to cope with the idea that the world is going to continue to exist long after they personally have ceased to.
