There are Muslims in America, Bill. Their religion teaches that it's perfectly okay for Muslim men to marry preteen girls, but barring the rare isolated weirdo, none do (and, more, none of them think it's even okay to do).

What's the difference between the two groups and the religion they both follow, Bill? If one is worse than the other when it comes to religiously-permissible pedophilia, which one is it, and why?

Bill, I don't think you'll gain many supporters that way. May I ask you to have another look at the argument regarding archaic rules, in several religions, about sex and marriage, and offer us something substantive as your considered response. After all, it was YOU who raised the sex - age issue in the first place.

Actually, Chazal even thought – and the most later rabbis adopted their view – that they could determine factual reality by issuing Halachic rulings. Thus they thought that if a girl under three years old had sex with a man her hymen would eventually regenerate. By "three years" they meant neither solar not lunar years, but three calendar years, the length of which can vary up to a month, and which were determined by the Sages themselves. Not only were Chazal aware of this fact, they even stated explicitly: "A girl three years old and a day, if the Beit Din determined that year as a leap year – her hymen regenerates, and if not – it does not regenerate" (The Jerusalem Talmud, Sanhedrin 1:1).

That does not make any sense. You were talking about some practice of having children arranged to marry but have sex when they were adults. You just went out fishing for something you could pretend was the same thing.

But you did not seem to know that not even the president can overturn abortion rights and make kids be taught hogwash in schools. So what is your campaign all about really? I care quite a bit. What I don't do, though, is blame Muslims who don't do this, nor do I blame their entire religion.

Iran, perhaps (though the current legal minimum age in Iran is actually higher than in the state I currently live in).

But I have family in northern Egypt, Bill. You know, as in actual devout Muslims related to me by blood. You know nothing about them, their neighbors, or their religion.

That does not make any sense either.

Most of the 9-11 hi-jackers did not know that the goal of the mission was to plow the jets into buildings and kill even the children on board.

That information was only known by 4.

So out of 19 only 4 were bad. Most of the 9-11 participants were good.

So, using your logic, 9-11 was good because most were innocent and good.

Exactly so! So how can you say that Muslims are required by their religion to perpetrate pedophile rape because of something that is supposed to have happened, not 600 years ago, as in your examples, but even 1400 years ago.

But it does not look fabricated. It is television broadcast directly from the Mid East. There is no anti-islamic guy in a studio shouting and screaming that islam has to go.

Dude do you actually..ya know hanged around muslims? My ex gf is a muslim, some of my friends are muslims, nowhere have they stated to do or act like the way you suggest. And they are definitely good persons (one of my friend´s is a bit of a wise guy, but meh, it happens).

What is absurd about it?

Your "they are doing it most likely right now as you read this" in reference to pedophile rape perpetrated by Muslims, indicates admirable depth of feeling on your part as regards this issue. And at any given moment, what horrors are not being committed? What new chapters are not being added, even in this very minute, to the dreadful chronicle of human crime? But let us not allow this thought to overwhelm our reason.

ANtPogo, there is human sacrificing in the Old Testament. There is also that bit of angles coming down from the sky to have sex with humans to produce giants.

Are you telling me modern jews follow the examples of characters in their ancient text like the modern Arabs do with the Quran?

Oh, he said (Osama bin Laden said) in that famous video tape that the marines found (some conspiracy theorists say it was a hoax but the hoaxers have been debunked) that was abandoned in Afghanistan. In it, he met an Arab friend and he was seen sitting down on the floor bragging and reflecting on the day and the training involved. It was transcribed. I read the transcription.
