Sarah Palin Quits Halfway Through...Again!

She never announced that she was running for anything, and she never announced that she was no longer running for anything. Any claims that she "quit" a campaign are indicative of a silly fixation with a political non-player.

Ri--ight. The bus tour was just a vacation. The visit to Trump had nothing to do with the GOP nomination for POTUS. And the burning in her belly she spoke of was just indigestion.

Sure!

ETA: Sorry--the phrase was "the fire in the belly".

The best way to describe Ms Mosemeat is "scatter-brained." No wonder teatards love her. They can identify.

Todd Palin in response to being notified concerning this thread: "Tell me about it...'

The studio audience made the "Oooooo" sound, like when Peg made fun of Al's sexual prowess.

I'm sure she'll continue her bus tour after her jury duty.

From Palin's Facebook page:

Imagine our surprise when reading media reports today that the “One Nation Tour” has been cancelled. Why didn’t anyone tell me? Oh, wait, that’s because it hasn’t been cancelled. (Good ol' media... you never cease to amaze!)

As I said myself at the end of the east coast leg of the tour, the summer is long, and I’m looking forward to hitting the open road again. The coming weeks are tight because civic duty calls (like most everyone else, even former governors get called up for jury duty) and I look forward to doing my part just like every other Alaskan.

I wouldn’t think it to be such a slow news day that, what with numerous wars and serious economic woes concerning Americans, a bus is driving news stories today. The next leg of the tour continues when the time comes. In the meantime, no one should jump to conclusions – certainly not the media with their long track record of getting things wrong or just making things up.

That's exactly what I was wondering.

Some people's fixation with Sarah Palin seems... unhealthy.

Some people's fixation with Sarah Palin fixations seems unhealthy too. Everytime Palin is criticized, someone has to leap in and mention how weird it is we are commenting on a woman who intentionally thrusts herself into the limelight.

Sarah Palin is fascinating, though not in the good way. Learn to deal with it.

LOL. Somebody's getting a little defensive about their Sarah Palin fascination.

Yikes! Can you imagine having her on your jury?

Anyway, she isn't on the bus tour right now, and she is in Alaska right now.

And her claiming the media is who get things wrong or make things up--that's rich from the woman who claims she said no to the "Bridge to Nowhere".

So I wonder. . . when she sits on a jury panel (wink wink nudge nudge, 'cause I'm sure she will), will someone have to explain to her that it's not a "death panel"?

I'd be very surprised if she'd been accepted on a jury, mainly because of the media following her every move. Her Facebook page certainly implies that she's already been accepted and is planning to serve for several weeks. I wonder if the media will be following up on that to see if it's true. If it is true, I wonder if she'll resume her bus tour / paid vacation as soon as it's over.

My guess is that she did the bus tour to give some credence to the idea that she might actually run for president even though she won't be running. Her kids probably got bored of the trip. Not surprising.

Of course she's also said plenty of things that were simply untrue. I think her presence on a jury would be disruptive to the proceedings; not through any fault of hers, but just that she's such a high-profile member of the media and TV personality. I would be surprised if either side in any case would want her on a jury. [ETA: There's also the fact that she might introduce bias. Her supporters might give her opinion undue credence, and her detractors might reject her opinions prematurely.]

Well, if you didn't quit, she didn't quit. But I wouldn't take her at her word about the jury duty. That just sounds fantastical to me. I don't see how she serves on a jury and all a jury summons tells you is that you have to show up for one day. Most famous people or politicians rightly get excused as their presence is disruptive. Also most trials last for a day or two.
