There's a difference between attacking and telling it like it is. The world is FULL of ideologues and extremists who think they are right and everybody else is wrong. It serves no purpose to "attack you"; your irrelevance is punishment enough.

Nor, indeed, is there any evidence that any of them ever saw the inside of a cave. But the question, "How could nineteen fairly well-educated, middle class, fit and healthy young men with combat training defeat lax and out-of-date airline security procedures and then evade a run-down post-Cold War fighter force that had never seriously considered the possibility of having to defend against this sort of attack?" just doesn't make a good enough sound bite to fool the gullible, does it?

The Afghanistan/cave men picture was related to CIA asset bin Laden, after the fact, supposedly on the run for the US army, but in reality enjoying his old age in the grave. So you have a partial but irrelevant point here.

Sovietization didn't work in the USSR (now defunct), so why would it happen/work anywhere else apart, perhaps, from a country like N Korea (even China has moved on from the Mao era)?
