Merged Israel Attacks Palestinian Aid Flotilla, According To Reports

I've decided to boycott all Israeli made goods, until Israel (and Egypt) ends the blockade of Gaza. This thing has gone too damn far. It has not forced the Palestinian people to rebel against Hamas. Instead, it has turned the Palestinians of Gaza into victims of a political game, and turned Hamas into David against Israeli Goliath.

Nevermind the fact that Israel has taken all the activitists on these boats hostage, will not let them talk to any media, and refuse to allow any reporters to see injuries done to them by the IDF.

Israel has gone too far.

Does this answer your question?

He's a neo-Nazi who tries to impersonate a Jew based on what he thinks Jews are like -- with results about as accurate as can be expected.

Heh. I never looked to closely - my Hebrew sucks - but now that you mention it, it is weird that the mem sofis is at the beginning of the word...

IMO, that's be pretty easy and not an inconvenience to do. Looking around here, I can only name one item that i own that's made in Israel and it's a freaky SCUBA mask. Other than that, I can see no hardship nor sacrifice in avoiding Israeli goods.

Instead, it has turned the Palestinians of Gaza into victims of a political game,
As far as I can tell, that's always been the case. All the Gazans need to do is sign a pact of non belligerence with Israel which would force the two state solution. Yet they refuse, preferring instead to "elect" a government committed to eradicating Israel.

Is constant war what the people of Palestine REALLY want ?

what makes you think Israel would allow a peace-treaty with Gaza only?

the purpose of the Gaza embargo was to force the Palestinians to rise up against Hamas. Israel, like always, grossly miscalculated. The Palestinian people will NEVER betray their fellow Palestinian brothers, no matter how much food, fuel, and supplies Israel and Egypt keeps out.

Israel gambled...and they lost. Now the embargo must end.

If Israel does not end the embargo soon, I predict there will be more ships heading to Gaza with food and supplies, this time sponsored by European states. Any attack upon these ships would be seen as an act of war.

I just want to point out that trying to violate a naval blockade is an act of war against the country imposing the blockade, and calling it "humanitarian" (well, apart from the "kill the Jews" chants, etc., etc., etc.) doesn't get one off the hook.

If, in the first world war, a flotilla of ships sailed from Turkey to Germany claiming they are bringing "humanitarian aid" to Germany in violation of the British navy's blockade, you can bet your behind the navy would have sunk them.

And I'd just like to point out that an act of war can only be committed by another sovereign state (except in the mind of some people who think things like drugs and terrorism amount to statehood). If you can find that th perpetrators were carrying out policy fort some state, you might be able to make a case, but it is really hard for me to find that 6, or 60, or 600 activists on a boat can constitute an act of war. A police action, perhaps, but even then it was off the coast of Gaza, which the Israelis have explicitly disavowed governance over.

I'm sorry if this was covered somewhere in the first 220 or so posts, but the arrogance in this sort of post is simply overwhelming.

$20 says Israel will NOT allow a UN or international or even American investigation into what happened....and what is happening right this moment.

Israel will do an Israeli investigation and find their troops acted bravely and within the rules of law. Surprise....surprise.

The world did nothing after the Gaza invasion. This time, I hope the nations of North America and Europe show a little more balls and finally show Israel that their behavior will NO LONGER be tolerated.

And of course, the Neo-Cons, Neo-Zionists, and Christian fundies will argue about the Promised Land, God's Covenant, the Holocaust, etc etc...to try to justify Israel's actions.

Israel is the spoiled child that never faces consequences out of fear of hurting his feelings. And without consequences, the little child feels compeled to act our more and more...cause deep down he WANTS to be disciplined.

Well, its time to spank the child...regardless of his short-term cries and whines. In the end, it will make the child a better man.

And where was this journalist situated when the first unit landed on top deck? Please, I would be astonished where his viewpoint was from:
Amazing....you are simply amazing...

where was the Israeli journalist situated that you linked to here?

Was he even there? The Israeli journalist efforts you simply describe as "first hand accounts" and accept them unquestioned. Detailed accounts of what happened in the initial landings....all accepted unquestioned...was your Israeli journalist even there? there is no info on if he was or wasn't but you accept it....unquestioned...but a non israeli Journalist....oh dear, you must spread nothing but doubt about that eh?
you are purely and simply a partisan hack..no attempts whatsoever to evaluate information. When you are told what to believe you simply do as you are told.

I will wait for all the evidence to be available then make a reasoned conclusion. your propaganda chants are unlikely to be used in that role.

Israelis claimed to only have pistols. And yet, there is a photo of one holding a rifle or shotgun. what else did they lie about?

Poster bigjelmapro is a willing sponge for Jewish propaganda. He is good person because of this and will help spread lie that we Jews are victim of goal of pretend aid to Palestinians in ghetto of Gaza.

Jewish propaganda is weak. You know this. But we Jews do not have to work hard to fool Goy and gullible Jew as we superior. Honest Jew know that Turkish want to help Palestinians in Gaza.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100601/ts_nm/us_israel_flotilla

"Some 700 activists, many Turks but including Israelis and Palestinians as well as Americans and many Europeans -- among them politicians, a Jewish Holocaust survivor and Swedish author -- were held in and around Israel's port of Ashdod, where the six ships of the blockade-running convoy had been escorted.

They were detained incommunicado, ensuring no contradiction of Israel's version of Monday's events. The military said the nine activist were killed when commandos, who stormed aboard a Turkish cruise ship from dinghies and helicopters, opened fire in what Netanyahu said was self-defense."

Israel just keeps digging that ditch deeper..and deeper..and deeper...

How brave of you to threaten the people of Palestine from your computer.

Israel's embargo has failed miserably. The people of Gaza did not rise up against their Hamas "oppressors". Instead, the Palestinians have used the embargo as a tool to show their plight..and Israel's inhumanity.

Israel's public relations is going straight to hell, and regardless of what they say, they DO care what the world thinks about them.

No. I am trying to split hairs since it seems to be a popular way to absolve acts of terrorism/aggression/persecution/whatever you call it.

"No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.
Pillage is prohibited.
Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective
"A collective is a group of entities that share or are motivated by at least one common issue or interest, or work together on a specific project(s) to achieve a common objective. Collectives are also characterised by attempts to share and exercise political and social power and to make decisions on a consensus-driven and egalitarian basis. "

Exactly how is building a confining wall and instituting a blockade that only really harms innocent people not collective punishment in this case?

Ohh, because there aren't any Borg involved.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borg_%28Star_Trek%29#Borg_Collective
Also referred to as the "hive mind" or "collective consciousness", this is the term used to describe the group consciousness of the Borg civilization. Each Borg individual, or drone, is linked to the collective by a sophisticated subspace network that ensures each member is given constant supervision and guidance. The collective is broadcast over a subspace domain similar to that utilized by the transporter. Being part of the collective offers significant biomedical advantages to the individual drones. The mental energy of the group consciousness can help an injured or damaged drone heal or regenerate damaged body parts or technology. This is instrumental in the Borg ability to adapt with great speed to defensive tactics used against them.[1]

I'd be happy to return to the relevant definitions as soon as you finish with your 'hair splitting' as you have chosen to call your fallacies of equivocation.

How come Israel is not considered a rogue state? They seem to have have little if any regard for the rule of law.

There's also that covert nuclear weapons program. Why is no one (such as the U.S.) demanding to get inspectors in to document that program?

The above is amusing.

Israel does not respect the rule of law!

I demand inspections of Israel regardless of the rule of law!

The Gaza embargo is worse than simply collective punishment. It is an act of collective intimidation, in order to achieve a political goal, being the voting out or uprising against Hamas.

and what do we call an act of intimidation against civilians in order to achieve a political goal? what's that word again?

oh yeah. TERRORISM.

We could do that just as soon as you acknowledge that the the definition I listed as provided by your link is exactly what is going on here and is in fact, collective punishment. The whole thing stinks of it.
