We were given examples of this. Turns out they are being prosecuted. Turns out one of them even got his mother thrown in jail for this. Another one got his vehicle seized. Both of them are still facing ongoing prosecution.

As a little example of how the US courts will not ignore driving offences I offer this:

Yesterday I watched a woman on TV apprehended by bounty hunters on a warrant stemming from a ten-year-old driving on a suspended license charge. I believe she owed over $2000 and had been to jail 5 times on this one charge.

It's right about now that I wish I had some photoshop skills. I'd transpose some FOTL sayings onto a still frame from the Matrix - like where Neo says "NO" to the bullets.
