From the Chris Rock video:
But did you see OJ play against New England?

But did you see OJ play against New England?
Film director Roman Polanski is to offer a "very, very significant" sum of cash as bail to allow him to be released from a Swiss jail, his lawyer has said. [ . . . ] The Swiss Federal Justice Office turned down Polanski's last appeal on Friday, saying the risk that Polanski would escape the country was "still too high."

This isn't going to happen. Here in Atlanta Ga a 12 year old hooker who was working the streets was with a John when the police arrested them both. The hooker was concerned about her John and didn't want anything to happen to him. The courts cooked him anyway despite the fact that the girl could have easily passed for a 20 year old.It strikes me that those who would pursue like that are likely people who want to see Polanski exonerated, so they hope to get her to keep saying things like how the charges should be dropped or she doesn't want him to be punished.
Polanski's bail has now been granted.
Anyone taking odds on him staying in Switzerland much longer? I mean, it's not like he hasn't taken a runner before...
'anti-fag' thing?
I think there is a problem with this theory.
Wow, this thread's still alive? Hmmm, I'll just jump right to page 18.
Any updates Polanski?
The justices said they watched “Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired” and quoted extensively from its interviews with David Wells, a retired deputy district attorney who claimed to have secretly advised the late Superior Court Judge Laurence J. Rittenband on what to do in the Polanski case.
“If Wells’s account is true, Judge Rittenband was ushered along a path of iniquity by an officer of the court with a personal axe to grind and no hesitation to engage in unethical ex parte communications and devise illegal, nonappealable sentences to circumvent the defendant’s due process and sentencing rights,” the opinion said.
Wells did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press. He has since said he lied in the documentary. [source]
He may be able to make good movies but he had no right to drug and rape a 13 year old girl. What a loathsome coward of a man.
Roman Polanski said:I can remain silent no longer because for over 30 years my lawyers have never ceased to insist that I was betrayed by the judge, that the judge perjured himself, and that I served my sentence.
Mr. Gunson (Deputy District Attorney): Do you understand that at this time, the Court has not made any decision as to what sentence you will receive?
The Defendant (Polanski): (No response.)
Mr. Gunson: Do you understand that the Judge has not made any decision?
The Defendant: Yes.
The judge never reneged on the plea bargain. As has been pointed out before, during the earlier stages of the plea bargain Polanski was told that he could be sentenced to jail, and he said he understood.Hmmmm, so there's nothing about Judge Rittenband reneging on the plea-bargain.
