Yes, and this took place in 1986, almost a decade after the incident in LA. So, it does kind of indicate that the first incident wasn't just some "single mistake".

The incident did take place in France, so I'm not sure how exactly it relates to the U.S. case. (Also not sure if there's a statute of limitations in France that would keep her from pressing charges there.)

Michael Douglas seems to be wise enough to avoid the controversy:

Douglas said that, despite his fondness for Polanski, it would not be right for him as an American to sign a petition in favour of someone who had broken the law and "jumped bail."

All I can say is... wow. Didn't she think that that sort of information might be, you know, sort of relevant?

So, what do people think the case is with Lewis?

- Misguided do-gooder attempting to serve justice by helping to get the 'bad' Polanski extradited (although doing so by lying)?
- Person attempting to whitewash their past?
- Person was being at least partly honest, and had actually been assaulted/taken advantage of by Polanski, but didn't didn't talk about it and put up a 'false face' by saying she was willing

I honestly have no idea.

It could be that she was abused but felt that it was necessarily to project a 'man-eater' image to advance her career.
It could even be that she 'modified' the memory of the event and convinced herself that she was an active participant instead of coerced.
It could be that she was a total slut back then and now that her acting career has ended is cynically using the situation to gain attention or damages.

Human psychology being irrational, illogical and almost infinitely complex, who knows?
