Joe the Plumber jumps the shark

Odd how an unlicensed plumber, who's name isn't Joe, who isn't planning to start a business, doesn't make anything near $250k, and would seem to actually benefit from Obama's proposed tax plan, is not only proclaiming the US progressive tax system as socialist, but is now finds his opinion on foreign policy of value to the campaign of John McCain.

Taken to task over his statement about Obama's danger to the existence of Israel, on Fox News no less, he manages to wiggle around even when confronted with contrary evidence by the newscaster.

Joe the Plumber. Spokesman for John McCain. Is there any wonder why McCain is thought to be flailing? I suppose there's something else he could fall back on:

I think that "Joe" in a single person sums up the
Hypocticy,
Stupidity,
Greed, and
Hate of the republican party so well that we should sit him on an elephant and all the wacko's who still believe in the
trickle down, less taxes, you can negotiate for your health care, reagan walked on water crowd could go prey to him on Sundays.

He did that strip before anyone had ever heard of Joe the Plumber. (I wondered why the plumber didn't look like Joe).

That's pretty amazing--that "unlicensed plumber" was the character he came up with.

I think GBT is part of the Illuminati and has inside info on the McCain campaign and. . . .

As someone who goes by his middle name myself, this is a silly accusation.

Your middle name is Upchurch?! :eye-poppi

Seriously, I have two good friends who have always gone by their middle names. Their parents' choice, I suppose...

"Joe, where are you? Is Joe here with us today? Joe, I thought you were here today."

McCain continues his pandering to the confused, senile and elderly vote.

"Joe's with us today. Joe, where are you? Where's Joe? Is Joe here with us today? Joe, I thought you were here today," McCain said during the rally.

McCain aides had said that Joe Wurzelbacher, also known as Joe the Plumber, would appear with the Republican presidential candidate at his event in Defiance.

But reached at home, Wurzelbacher said it was "news to him" that he was supposed to be at the McCain rally. Wurzelbacher said nobody from the McCain campaign confirmed he was attending the event and called the incident a "miscommunication."

Miscommunication?! Ha!

I think the State of Ohio finally suspended the driver's license he wasn't eligible to get (owing to the suspension in Arizona), and he had no transportation.

A progressive tax system is socialist, regardless of whether it's good or not, and regardless of whether the opinion-maker is a billionaire or dirt grindingly poor.

Does it shock you that someone who isn't Steve Forbes doesn't countenance a worldview that the rich got that way by being skinflint misers and cheaters who take advantage of the common man, thus deserving their punitive high taxes that assuage the egos of the hoi polloi and elect the politicians who spout it?

Does it bother you that someone who isn't Warren Buffet actually has a sense of propriety, and doesn't jump onto the Democrat bandwagon because they'll get some from the taxation of the rich? That sounds rather shallow -- that you shouldn't be opposed to such a thing because (a politician claims) you'll benefit from it. Without it necessarily being ethical.

Excuse me, but where does the constituion prohibit any measure that is socialist in nature?

And what is socialistic about taxing people on the basis of the rate at which they benfit from and derive power from their use of the infrastructure?

No. It amuses us that this deluded moron is so self-destructive.

No, it bothers us that the schmuck is willing to throw the rest of the working class under the bus and let the ultra-rich hold on to everything they have wrenched out of this country because he is stupid enough to believe that he is destined to be upper-middle-class in spite of the fact that he is a deadbeat and an uneducated doofus who can't even drive properly.

Left wing yes socialist no. A socialist system requires a significant degree of nationalisation.

Me too, for the same reasons I did with Cindy Sheehan, although she got what, 4 years of fame from her antics? We might be seeing Joe around for a while to come.

Ok, I was in Crawford, TX back in '05, with Cindy. Sure she had her moments, but she actually lost her son in Iraq. She wasn't lying about anything, she was mad at Bush, and she let it be known.

"Joe the Plumber" is nothing but an opportunist...oh, and a ******* liar.

The comparison holds no water.

Please don't use even abbreviated obcenities.

Agreed. I think I'd come a bit unglued if my son was needlessly slaughtered in Mr. Bush's war.

:dl:

It had to come to this.

Does he really think he's getting any traction this way?

Bringing him up as a talking point in the debate made sense. Making him the central theme of his campaign does not. Looks like Joe left him hanging too, and nobody thought to tell McCain.

I wish we could get a common defination of the word "Socialism" around here.
Someone said that the US Government charging Private Companies a fee for mining on Federal Land is "Socialist".
I don't think that is what 90% of the people who use the word mean by Socialism.
I agree that I think the Government has got to totally dominate the economy by actually owning and running most big industries before you can call it Socialist as most people use the term.

JtP is in Nashville signing that record deal. He don't need Grampy anymore.

from the link said:
Move over, Sanjaya, and tell William Hung the news: Joe the Plumber is being pursued for a major record deal and could come out with a country album as early as Inauguration Day.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20081029/pl_politico/15072

I am now gonna argue that JtP is the luckiest right wing 'moran' in the world!

Left wing yes socialist no.

So there exists left wing capitalism (outside of corrupt mobsters in bed with politicians)?
