I think you have a point, even a good point, but you could express yourself more clearly and briefly. Furthermore, most of the posters here do not believe that the soul is a factual reality, so you might be adressing the wrong people.

I think that every poster here can agree with the definition of "soul" being the self. The thing that most would disagree with, though, would be the survival of the self after death.

Hey Navigator, if I switch the various nouns in your statement with other nouns in a consistent manner (i.e. wherever it says "light" for example I replace it with 'shadow') why would yours be any more valid than my version of what you said?
