I've been sitting here enjoying the circus, laughing at the clown, all the while admiring your incredible restraint. For you to participate in this bizarre, yet disturbing, spectacle is the ultimate example of overkill--a cruise missile to kill a mosquito. Still...
What are the implications when several bright, well-educated people cannot make a dent in the abysmal ignorance of a lone mental-defective? There are none, right? Now, multiply that solitary blockhead by thousands and you have a movement that threatens the foundations of a free society. I'm going to re-post a wonderful quote from Hillaire Belloc:
"We sit by and watch the Barbarian, we tolerate him; in the long stretches of peace we are not afraid. We are tickled by his irreverence, his comic inversion of our old certitudes and our fixed creeds refreshes us; we laugh. But as we laugh we are watched by large and awful faces from beyond; and on these faces there is no smile."
The 9/11 fantasy movement is a lynch mob. Construed as such, they no longer seem the harmless losers living in Mom's basement, staring at computer screens in their underwear. They embody history's most destructive forces in their combination of implacable stupidity with moral idiocy.
