I'm surprised he's ok with a military vessel with a woman's name.


ETA: Turns out Doris is a man (who knew?). However, also African American, so again, surprised Trump is OK with that.

IMO, a huge and maybe defining part of the problem is that the folks in the current administration, led by Trump himself, have decided on a method of thought by which they can impose a reality merely by what they say (or tweet), rather than being constrained in what they say (or tweet) by any objective reality. They seem to honestly think that simply to make a claim is to make it true and damn the facts that may say otherwise.

Ah, I've only heard it by his nickname "Dorie" which I instantly recognize as the mess attendant who grabbed the deck gun and defended his ship during the attack on Pearl Harbor, despite being untrained on it.

Problem with Maglev trains is that their best speed for efficiency is too high to be useful for a train route. Hence you only see them as Potemkin projects for dictatorships.

America's problem is not having an equivalent to the TGV.
