Who should run for the Dems?

Technically correct but not a bad idea regardless. A POTUS candidate could pick a few folks he for key cabinet positions before or during the campaign. Then have those folks more or less campaign for the POTUS on those issues related to the cabinet. Particular useful if the candidate is perceived as week on Foreign Policy or what not. Also, you don't have to campaign against anything, you can campaign for things to. Pick a potential AG who's got experience in legal things and known to be tough on crime or reform minded or what not and they can campaign on that. Pick a Secretary of State known for their foriegn policy chops. Nothing keeps people from doing that early and it could help.
If you're talking post-nomination I can imagine it, but nobody really votes based on who will be nominated for Secretary of State or Defense or Treasury, which are probably the three most important cabinet positions. Very few even vote (outside of the home state) based on the VP nominee (which does get disclosed at the party convention). Plus it transfers power from the candidate to the shadow cabinet ministers, in that they are now the presumptive nominees for those positions if the candidate wins. Somebody like Hillary in 2008 may have been in a position to demand a top spot to drop out, but that's the exception not the rule. Note that Mayor Pete got Secretary of Transportation under Biden, not exactly a glamor job.

I imagine most serious candidates have a short list for the top jobs ready when they are campaigning. I don't see a big benefit to announcing it, electorally speaking. Ya, it will get a handful of nerds (*cough*) excited, but your average voter won't care. Plus, the usual suspects will present it like a conspiracy theory.

No fat guys or girls for presidency. We had one win in 2016 and he is now wearing a diaper. But not the hunched over scrawny guys either. Just a standard male or female about 40. We will give them a handball court. Ban presidential holf trips forever.

Aside from basketball, acceptable sports:
  • Swimming: John F. Kennedy was on the Harvard University swim team, and Ronald Reagan was a standout swimmer and lifeguard.
  • Running & Jogging: Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush were both avid runners who completed multiple races.

And no botox lips.

Bill Clinton was an avid jogger too, but I'm not aware of any races he won.

There's nothing wrong with having a shadow government. TGZ's mistake is not fully understanding that it's a feature of a parliamentary system; and not fully understanding the degree to which the American system of government is not parliamentary, and that the American electorate has no context for nor interest in parliamentary features and tropes.
You're bringing an awful lot of extra baggage into a single post that never claimed any of what you're saying it claimed.

Believe it or not, TGZ might not be stupid either. Here's what TGZ actually said:
IF the Dems were clever (and not only too clever for their own good), they should assemble a Shadow Cabinet now of people with experience, reputation and a track record of policies that helped Americans.
The Message should be that The President needs Good and Competent People to do his/her job, no matter who they are.

Run against all the lickspittle freaks like Miller, Patel, Lutnick, Hegseth, Bessent, Blanche, highlighting how utter unqualified, corrupt, self-serving and incompetent they are, not Trump (been done and failed again and again).

Highlight stars like Lina Khan and their work to make the lives of Americans objectively better.

Ask for Resumes from people now to staff the government depleted by DODGE and occupied by ghouls and vampires - most agencies will have to be utterly purged, and it will require A Lot of people quickly to replace them.
If you think that you or someone in your family might soon be working for the Government, you are more likely to vote for the Party that would make that happen.

Make the Presidency less of a Personality Cult.
There is nothing - nothing in this that suggests that TGZ believes that a Shadow Cabinet is or should be a formal structure within the American system. He is using the term as a metaphor - a label - nothing more, and then freaking elaborating on what he really means.

What TGZ is actually describing is bringing back meritocracy. Have qualified people, have them campaign against unqualified people, and bring the discussion about who is and is not qualified back into the public discourse.

going to be difficult. Since the current American zeitgeist tends to see being a dumb imbecile as a virtue to be coddled and nurtured.

There is a logic to it, based in the heavily cultivated fear of highly educated:
When you worry that those in power are not working in your best interest you can at least hope that they are too incompetent to get much done.
If you think the people in power are on your side, anything they do, no matter how haphazard, is probably a step in the right direction.

The end result is a preference for the clueless in power.

Americans, what do you think about Jon Ossoff as the Democratic candidate?

He seems like he would be a good choice. He's in a purplish state, speaks well, with a lot of energy, and has a very "American preacher" way of speaking.

You'd have to fill his seat. Its too tight there to give up him or Warnock.

I would love if a minority or a woman won the Presidency. But as much as I'd like to see that happen I'm worried that trying to make history is generally a losing nominee.

I would pick Pete Butigieg over all the Democratic candidates to be President. But while I think he could win the nomination, I don't think there is a snowball's chance in hell he can win the general election.

I truly believe that Voters want a bold choice, not just another Old White Male.
The US Voter looooves the "outsider", mostly because they hate Congress so much.
So anyone who doesn't look like he came out of a cloning pod under the Capitol has a decent chance - IMO.

Personally I think Newsom has the best chance of winning. I'd have no issues voting for him and he seems liberal enough to keep California happy. He's got a lot of energy to offset Dozy Donny and his PR is pretty top notch.

You could vote third party. There are likely some small town Reps out there in purple districts, nobody who's gonna run.

I encourage third party voting locally, but unless you're in a solid D or R state then I wouldn't waste it for general elections. I'd love to see another political party but the stakes are too high at this point.

A middle aged white male?

We should get a nepo baby rich boy who brags about how he's part of the corruption in the system
