Appeals Court rules Trump's tariffs are illegal and the law he is using to impose them does not give him the authority he thinks it does.



My gut says, SCOTUS will either reject the appeal, which leaves the Appeals Court ruling in place that the tariffs are illegal, OR they will agree to hear the case and rule against Trump, 6 to 3. Which would be awesome either way.

President does have authority to impose tariffs, but not the way he is doing it and not without Congressional oversight and approval.

My gut says the SC will decide that what Trump's done isn't tariffs but something else, so the decisions against them don't stand and he can do them as much as he likes until Congress passes a law against this new thing. In which case the process will repeat.

If the Appeals Court ruling is upheld by SCOTUS or not challenged by SCOTUS, then all the tariffs made by Trump stop being enforced.

Cuz they are illegal and violate the law and it would be illegal and unConstitutional for the Commerce dept or whomever to enforce them.

Basically all foreign shippers could tell anyone seeking to obtain funds due as part of an illegal tariff, to go ◊◊◊◊ themselves.
 
It may take us till Tuesday to see a glimpse of Trump. All the clips posted so far were fake. It should take some effort with makeup to get on TV Tue, but Trump will need to actually speak by next week. Call into Fox might solve it.

At which point they are clearly woke leftist DEI trans people that are in the US illegally and get dragged out of their house by ICE and someone more reasonable takes over their company to keep giving Trump his cut of the profits.
