So what form does the resistance take?

Be good if there was lots of peaceful, civil disobedience and non-violent resistance.

This weekend's marches were a good start. The riots in LA were not helpful.

I think that peaceful civil disobedience is effectively impossible in the US (and for that matter the UK) because the police will go in with tear gas and batons to disperse the protesters at which point it's no longer a peaceful protest.

A peaceful protest requires the cooperation of all parties and that won't be forthcoming for a "left wing" protest.

Letters from Birmingham Jail has entered the chat.

Just because of police act with violence doesn't mean protesters have to respond with violence. I guess you don't understand the concept of civil disobedience and nonviolent protest and Passive resistance. You need to learn more about the very successful protest policies of the civil Rights movement.

The civil rights movement was 60 odd years ago with a different approach to policing, a different political landscape, and much more importantly a media willing to publicise and call out police brutality.

These days the point at which the police initiate violence, it's no longer a peaceful protest even if the protesters just lie there and allow themselves to be beaten. The right wing media will insist that the protesters were to blame and the rest of the media will report "both sides" to show that they're impartial giving credence to the lie.

The police are well aware of this which is why they're so eager to go in heavily.

Are you really interested in peaceful non compliance or do you just want to see some lefties having the snot beaten out of them ?

True non-violent protest + civil disobedience + passive resistance= the best recipe for success and public support.

I am very well aware that lazy people and people who want to crack skulls disagree.

I would respectfully disagree, on grounds of defnition. A protest is peaceful if the protester is peaceful. The response is not the protest and the protester is not responsible for it.

Indeed. Just because a police officer decides to kick ass doesn't mean the protest has become violent. Or has to become violent.

Not according to today's media. Any violence at a protest, even if it's just from the police, makes it a violent protest.

They'll find a way to blame the protesters.

Congratulations! You acknowledge that people are protesting against the tyrant EVERYWHERE, and they are not just black people or people of color, although there were several of those, too. You should take a closer look at those photos and videos.
The protester who was killed in Salt Lake City was a person of color - and an immigrant.
It's good to see that very few black people in the USA listen to Trump fan Tariq Nasheed, who also claims that there were no black protesters on Saturday.
Gee thanks...I guess. Maybe you could point out to me where I claimed people weren't protesting everywhere?

I guess you don't watch the right wing media outlets (which frankly is a little surprising given that many of your views echo them) or the mainstream media which slavishly repeats their lies in the name of balance.

That very much puts you in the minority.
These 50501/No Kings protests went off without a hitch.

No I do not watch Fox News or any other right wing media outlets. My news is pretty much all NBC, ABC, CNN and MSNBC.

Then you'll be well aware of their reporting on "news stories" from right wing outlets giving them both a far greater reach and credence.

Uh huh
Yesterday Fox News posted something that touches on this issue. Hopefully they will keep it up.

Not the media that I watch.
I guess you didn't see the right-wing response to a policeman taking aim and shooting an Australian reporter from behind with a rubber bullet.

But Trump had RoboPuppies. And drone-carrying soldiers.
(I think I know why they didn't issue batteries for drones being carried right past the president watching from behind his transparent shield.)
