you also got a parade of bored looking troops walking past a bored looking president
The troops may actually have performed a not-so-silent but still quite subtle protest against Trump - more than just looking bored!
Trump gets STUNNED as Army seems to DEFY HIM (MeidasTouch on YouTube, June 16, 2025 - 16:04 min.)
MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas reports on veterans who have said the Army members who participated in the parade intentionally did not stand in formation because they didn’t want to be used as props for Trump’s dictator birthday parade.
5:22--> Shannon Watts points out the following: "For the kids, the song they were playing" during this dictator parade is called "'Fortunate Son' by Creedence Clearwater Revival'" which is "a protest song that critiques the social injustices and class disparities of the Vietnam War draft system" that Donald Trump exploited to claim he had bone spurs to get five deferments to not be drafted into the Vietnam War.
I didn't recognize the song and I never really listened to Creedence lyrics, but it sure sounds as if its narrator could be one of the marching soldiers complaining about privileged ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ like Trump. It can't be just a coincidence, can it?!
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don't they help themselves, Lord?
But when the taxman come to the door
Lord, the house lookin' like a rummage sale, yeah
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no millionaire's son, no, no
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate one, no
Yeah-yeah, some folks inherit star-spangled eyes
Hoo, they send you down to war, Lord
And when you ask 'em, "How much should we give?"
Hoo, they only answer, "More, more, more, more"
For more than 20 years, I've been wondering why Lieutenant Mario Conde, the main character of Cuban author Leonardo Padura's novels, hardly ever listens to Cuban music. He and his Cuban friends almost always listen to Creedence Clearwater Revival. Now I think I know why.
