So what form does the resistance take?

Going to local protest by car. Once there it will be an hour or two, and that is how much parking you can get. We had planned to go by bike (my poster is small, nobody reads them when there are over 500) but our third member going made her sign too big to carry by bike.
Not posting anything on social media as I have travel planned. And I have reduced a lot of my presence as well, including all blogs other than hobbies.

Very nice protest, mayor has it under control. police in two cuisers, never got out of the car. Governor has some national guard ready in case we start looting and burning. But not at state capitol, the other city.
Enthusiastic honking by drivers on main drag got a little tiresome after an hour.

I live in a small city in one of the United States whose name is not California. Our "No Kings" rally was attended by about 1 in 50 of the city's residents. The rally was completely peaceful, as has been true for most or all of today's rallies.

There were four No Kings rallies within an hour's drive, all scheduled at different times, which allowed an organized vehicular counter-protest to show up at all four. I assume most of the relatively small number of folks who drove past multiple times to offer a view of their digitus medius were aligned with that counter-protest.

Police SUVs drove past at regular intervals, and I saw at least one vehicle that identified itself as belonging to the sheriff's department. The nearest thing to a confrontation that I saw occurred when a flat-bed truck pulled in next to the sidewalk where the flag- and sign-holders were standing. It so happened that I was the only male standing along that stretch of sidewalk, which may be why the middle-aged male driver edged his truck forward until he could stare directly at me across his cab and open window. He seemed to want nothing more than a staring contest, so I just stared back. After a minute or so, he began to move his truck forward, apparently seeking greater joy. He didn't notice a police SUV arrive in the opposite lane. It turned on its flashing light and signalled for a U-turn. As the police officer waited for traffic to move out of the way so he could complete his U-turn, a rather agitated middle-aged woman stepped from the sidewalk out into the street in front of me, obviously intent on offering the truck driver her opinion of his behavior. A couple of us pulled her back onto the sidewalk, pointing out that she was obstructing the path of a police vehicle. The police officer conducted the apparent equivalent of a traffic stop, talking to the truck driver for a few minutes before going back to his vehicle, writing for a bit, and then returning for a short discussion with the truck driver. Back in his SUV, the officer waited for the truck driver to pull back into traffic and then followed him down the street.

Some bikers showed up at the Clark Park demonstration here in Detroit. There was a bit of a fight, but the cops broke it up.

No, I wasn't there. I'm a tad too old for that kinda line dance.

There were some rallies here in Norway, too. They renamed them No Dictators because, well, we have a king, so they found that name kinda awkward when applied here :P .

I went to one on Long Island. A friend told me they thought 2000 showed up. I saw no clashes and one trumper drove by shouting from a bullhorn but nothing came of it.

It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to, cry if I want to ...

This footage of Trump 'enjoying' his parade is wonderful!
WATCH Trump’s SAD FACE After NO ONE SHOWS UP (Keith Edwards on YouTube, June 15, 2025 - 10:05 min.)
Keith Edwards discusses former President Trump’s gloomy reaction at his militarized birthday celebration on June 14, 2025—where turnout was surprisingly sparse despite the pomp of a $25–45 million parade tied to the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary. He captures the contrast between Trump’s sour expression and the subdued atmosphere, noting that key figures like Melania Trump seemed disinterested and that many attendees quietly drifted away before his speech.

What is it with Trump and bikers?
Bikers for Trump (Wikipedia)
I remember that a German friend of mine back in the 1980s described biker gangs like Hell's Angels and Bandidos as "apolitical fascists," i.e. they emulate the 'virtues' of fascism and/or army life, toxic masculinity, but without political intentions or aspirations. However, Trump is a decrepit old softie who hides away at any sign of a physical altercation.

Unlike Harris, he is not a woman, but what else would he have going for him in the eyes of bikers?

I've read some speculation that it might actually have been something other than old man tiredness or jerk grumpiness going on: apparently later Melania (of all people) had to guide him to a podium and keep him from wandering off. Dementia is what is being said, not about ol' Dementia Biden but about Trump. With some comparisons to his speech and manner not in his last term but just a month ago. Time will tell, of course. But Trump's never before stayed quiet while sulking, has he?

Personally, I think the deliquescence of his brain has reached the tipping point where there's now more liquid than solid matter in there. What happens next depends on who around him is ready to seize the reins. Thiel's creature? Or will Musk have wormed his way (back?) in? Or that coterie of Fox News jerks? Interesting times, to be sure.

Before saying not many people showed up, remember this was a military parade and they had both face painting and camouflage booths everywhere. There are tens of thousands of people there, but you just can't see them.

Dammit! I was hoping to wake up and enjoy some kickass riot footage with my morning coffee but all I get is a parade of White boomers from Reddit.
