Right, that was the original point out I was addressing. I pointed out that ion drives in an atmosphere would be based on different techniques than those used in space.

ETA: That's because there is too much homo sapien in me to prevent the natural course of human errors. I'll be sure to ask for a double dose of alien DNA upon my next abduction. :thumbsup:

"I seed all winds." Saw that 1.6 generations ago on a reproduction of an old French ad poster for a literary journal. The expression (actually w/ vent singular, but I said it was a long time ago) is colloquial in France; look it up in good old P'tit LaRousse. The image frequently associated with it is of a late Belle Époque fairy maid blowing on a ripe dandelion head, metaphorically spreading the umbrellas of knowledge to all the world. The version I saw featured her with a luscious O! mouth and delicate little headlights.

Don't know, but bats are remarkably long-lived for their size. I'm not suggesting bats and aliens are literally the same thing, only that some folk have trouble telling them apart.

I actually age-regressed under hypnosis just so I could view the video through the eyes of a seven year old, back when my favorite TV show was "UFO" (cause I liked Straker's car) and this video looks just as unconvincing to my 7 yr old self. :D

There's nothing nice about ignorant people coming up with ignorant (albeit highly imaginative) explanations of perfectly mundane and understandable occurrences in order to make themselves feel special and superior. The fact that so many people can emotionally invest in obviously preposterous beliefs to this extent does not make me feel safe and sound, it makes me fear for the future of humanity. This particular preposterous belief may be harmless, but many others are not.

That is very true, although in this case I am not sure it is a simple case of poor reasoning skills or narcissistic behavior; the OP's behavior here exhibits more than a few classic symptoms of schizophrenia. I do hope he has the support of family or friends.
 
Well it was a flounce long on "you're all poopy heads" and short on defending "aliens dunnit" so I think there's a chance daylight is beginning to break through.
