It's an epidemic in well lit areas with security cameras.

About 10 years ago, I visited the large alien-landing museum in Roswell. It was nicely done. The funniest part, as you might expect, were the comments of the visitors who believed that the aliens actually crashed there and they, or the evidence, were being hidden by the US government.


The town has become a retirement area; at an elevation of 3,573 ft (1,089 m), the winters are not super warm, but warmer than the northern tier of US states.
