They may not want to prop up President Trump per se but Trump's base is the key to the Presidency (I cannot envisage a Republican being elected in the foreseeable future without it turning out in forces) and to both the Senate and House.
If the GOP doesn't manage to get hundreds of thousands of postal votes, and tens of thousands of votes from minority districts excluded then they can wave goodbye to the Presidency, House and Senate. With the Democrats in charge it's likely that significant changes will be made to protect the right to vote at a federal level so there's a risk that they're saying goodbye to the House and Senate for a while.
They will fight tooth and nail to protect their power and, in state legislatures, stacked courts and SCOTUS they have the tools at their disposal to have a good go at pulling it off.
Well, the worry is that on election night itself, the votes counted by then that didn't include large numbers of Democrat-voting postal ballots, might point to a Trump victory, only for the mail-in votes to gradually turn the tide (IIRC, it took weeks before Clinton's millions of votes in California were voted to give a respectable popular vote as opposed to what looked like a fairly slender margin).
But that said, if the victory is overwhelming (and please America, it really should be) then Trump and his stooges such as McConnell and Graham etc... can whine all they like, but they will be out.

Those are major constitutional changes that almost certainly couldn't happen because it would require GOP states and Congresspeople to sign off on it.
Yeah, but also unlikely if he wins by a large enough majority as it would require staunch Democrat electors to suddenly decide to vote for Trump, out of the ******* blue!

No need - the reason it didn't work with Harris is two-fold, and widely known. First, most black Americans have slavers among their ancestry. And second, this is a poor argument that shriek "Slavery was a long time ago! GET OVER IT!!!" when black Americans point out current systemic racism.

It seems that under our current system, at its extreme, an outcome as far out of balance as 22% to 78% could allow the "22% getter" to claim victory.

Wyoming, D.C., Vermont, North Dakota, Alaska, South Dakota, Delaware, Rhode Island, Maine, Hawaii, Idaho, Nebraska, West Virginia, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Kansas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Iowa, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Oregon, Kentucky, Louisiana, South Carolina, Alabama, Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Maryland, Tennessee, Arizona, Indiana, Massachusets, Virginia, and New Jersey.
And, assuming no faithless electors or other shenanigans, win the Presidency on 50.19% of the EC vote... on the back of 21.91% of the United States popular vote.

To be fair, there are very few undecideds at any political rally. They serve multiple purposes beyond changing voters' minds. They reinforce local campaigns' energy to make calls, canvass neighborhoods, etc. They also generate substantial local news coverage which acts as a multiplier to the actual in-person attendance.
But in Trump's case there is an additional effect. All the goobers refuse to practice good pandemic hygiene with the result that some will get too sick or die to be able to vote, thereby lowering his vote total. GO, DONNIE!

It's not that it's Pennsylvania deciding. Their model correlates states, in that if one state goes a certain way, then so do some number of others. In PA's case, that's Michigan and Wisconsin. So, the model is saying, if Pennsylvania went GOP, then so did MI and WI, so Trump wins, and vice-versa. Biden is polling well ahead in all 3 states.
