The Trump Presidency: Part 21

This kind of claim is BS on two levels.
First is obvious - blaming someone else for his own failures, as usual.
Second is even worse - lets assume this claim is true. That means Trump did nothing to fix that situation. He had 3,5 years to do that.

In any normal company manager blaming his predecessor that quit years ago would be fired.
Both Obama and Trump administrations bought as many supplies as the funds Congress authorized would allow.

Which is to say, not nearly enough.

The difference between Trump and Obama, though, is that Obama actually pushed for more funding. Trump didn't even realize there was a problem, until it was too late.

The problem is too many Americans don't understand the basics of how our government even operates.

Worse still, they have supremely misguided notions about the same.

If that ignorance didn't exist, it could not be played on to such effect.

President Trump told reporters on Wednesday that the coronavirus pandemic, which has led to the death of tens of thousands of people in the United States in recent months, is worse “than Pearl Harbor” and the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

My god, now that we can, we should nuke Spain for 1917*. That's how this works, right?

*tapaCrap on Android... can't get the brackets for a 17/18 strikethrough. [emoji21]

Ugh.
I lose it every time he says some representative should go back to their own district and fix it before doing anything in D.C.

I don’t know if I am more angry at him for saying it, at his base for believing it, or at the Republican Party for not correcting him.

I think the other poster was talking about a replacement Republican speaker, rather than who might take over Moscow Mitch's Senate seat.
(Imagine Cruz or Graham taking over for the turtle as the one who controls the Senate business.)

You are correct. I was.

Does anyone know where we can suggest ideas for such ads to folks like these? I've go one idea based on this notion:

There's a twitter feed out there called "Trump criticizes Trump". I'm envisioning a series of ads based on this notion.

One would be juxtaposing cuts of Trump literally contradicting himself, saying X and then not-X.

Another would be more creative. Get one of those shots of Trump from the last presidential debates, the one where he just grunted "Wrong!" without any attempt at discussion.

Then we splice that onto the end of cuts of Trump just saying wrong things. "Like a miracle, it will go away" "WRONG!" "By the end of April, it's gone" "WRONG!" "I HAVE Total Authority!" "WRONG!"

There's probably enough material for ten minutes of just that.

Then end it with "I take no responsibility" ".....Okay, he got that one right."

Both are excellent ideas.

I asked ⁦@realDonaldTrump⁩ why he didn’t wear a mask at the Honeywell plant yesterday. He said he had worn one. I said we did not see him wearing one. He said he wore one backstage and the Honeywell chief said it was not necessary to wear in the plant.

Because why would they need to take any precautions against contamination in the part of the facility where they were making personal protective equipment?

The problem is that too many don't want to understand. Worse still, they actively resist understanding.

Way too many. About 40% of them.

Operates like a dumpster fire?

This ad is pretty brutal, too. And, of course, accurate. Not from the Lincoln Project, though.

Could have been better:
  • Make a point
  • Show clip of Trump not taking responsibility
  • Make another point
  • Show clip of Trump not taking responsibility
  • Show a baby in ICU
  • Show clip of Trump not taking responsibility
  • Show people grieving
  • Show clip of Trump not taking responsibility
  • Show count of deaths
  • Show clip of Trump not taking responsibility

Maybe end with a frame that has the word "leadership" and underneath a quote from Truman saying the buck stops here.

The Fake News has reached an all time high!

Someone here was highlighting the crappy grammar that Trump uses. Those are two more examples. Trump would flunk a high school composition class.

So Trump is measuring deaths that took place over a periods measured in hours against deaths that are taking place over at least months, if not years.

Gee, Donnie, how does your comparison stack up against Pearl Harbor *and* deaths in the Pacific theater that ensued.

Nonsense! Why, people are saying, they say, "Sir, you're grammer is the best grammer!" and they are right! Writing is the highest, and he's the greatest at. The ratings doesn't lie! Siri how do i get a bigmac now.

....orchestrated by Obama.

When I read your post, I immediately thought of Capt. Kirk yelling “Khaaaaan!” While shaking his fist.
Now, I am wonder if 45 sometimes stands in the Oval Office and yells “Obamaaaaa!”
