No, I'm pretty sure a senator's term starts in January following the election, so Moscow Mitch would have a few months in the senate.

I suspect the republicans might also try to cram through some laws to try to limit the president's power in the future. (Kind of like "we don't care if Trump abused the office, but we will now demand future presidents don't go to the bathroom without reporting to congress first.")

They might try, but the lame duck Repub Senate would be blocked by the lame duck Democratic House.

Yes, that was a bit exaggerated. I too will seriously worry for American democracy if Trump wins is re-elected, but there will still be an America, surely.

Maybe they are concerned he will rename it Trumpistan .

Or perhaps that certain states will secede from the union rather than continue to acknowledge him as POTUS, particularly if there is good reason to believe the election was fixed.

....lost for Evan “McMuffin” McMullin (to me). Steve Schmidt & Reed Galvin lost for John McCain, Romney’s campaign manager (?) lost big to “O”, & Jennifer Horn got thrown out of the New Hampshire Republican Party. They’re all LOSERS, but Abe Lincoln, Republican, is all smiles!

Same as ever, likely, though, as a reminder, Trump TV as a rival to Fox was something that Trump was planning to do back in 2016 if he lost, anyways. Given that Trump can be said to have out Foxxed Fox, though, the success is uncertain.

What I want to know is, how did a germaphobe **** up a pandemic response so badly?

If you'd asked me three years ago to predict how well Trump would respond to various types of crises, "Epidemic or Pandemic" would have unquestionably been at the top of the list. It's the one type of crisis wherein at least one of his personal flaws should have pushed him to do the right thing. The first time someone told him that a virus was coming to get him from CHY-na, he should have mobilized every single thing the US could mobilize to fight it.

It should have been a germaphobe's Dream Come True:

1. Keep those dirty hands off me!
2. Wear a mask!
3. Sanitize your hands!
4. Sanitize everything!
5. If you're sick, stay away!
6. Oh My God, Everyone Else Finally Agrees With Me!
