The narrative only has to tap into something real. The rust belt was neglected to into the hell that it is and then on top of that they are the ones paying for rich elite coasters to continue having caviar and coke on yachts to celebrate their patents on all the robots that will soon be replacing them. Naming Democrats as the guilty is just part of how using angry people works, sadly. Clinton signed NAFTA, all right or wrongs aside (believe me, I KNOW), that's our albatross forever.

I mean you could tell the Gary from Gary, Indiana story and stop for prompts at several points and probably get people to figure it out it is so ingrained and natural. I'm in flyover country near those states and have taken a few train rides that left vivid imprints in my memory since the rail lines go right past a whole row of deteriorating factories and warehouses with a little township in the distance about every 20 minutes or so.

ok, let's reverse this.
How was the East Coast, or Silicon Valley, or plenty of other thriving places in the US favored over the Rust Belt? Was there some government initiative that helped there but not elsewhere? Were critical resources withheld?
Is there any policy that caused the decline or prevented the recovery?

I think there are factors at play beyond politics, and for some reason, one party gets more blame than the other, when probably neither could have realistically done much to prevent it.
And economists agree that NAFTA helped US farmers, but of course some more than others.

I wonder if trump understands the actual expression or if he's just trying to be folksy. You never really know, but it's a little comical that one would naturally lean toward the notion that the US president verges on illiterate.

Can we take the sudden change of subject as an admission that you have no evidence that Trump is telling the truth when he claims to have helped out the first responders in the aftermath of 9/11? Can you explain, then, on what basis you have come to believe that it is true?

..My team is negotiating with them now, but they always change the deal in the end to their benefit. They should probably wait out our Election to see if we get one of the Democrat stiffs like Sleepy Joe. Then they could make a GREAT deal, like in past 30 years, and continue....

...to ripoff the USA, even bigger and better than ever before. The problem with them waiting, however, is that if & when I win, the deal that they get will be much tougher than what we are negotiating now...or no deal at all. We have all the cards, our past leaders never got it!

If anyone actually was upset they would have been the same for Condi and Powell but they get a pass for being in the right party. It was never about the email server it was just more ways to character assassinate hillary as they had been doing for decades.

Depends if he can make the right noise I could see lots of cops going along with the say 20%(at least) of cops that would support this. And as long as he keeps the military out of it are they going to overthrow him when civilian authority aquisesses?
In short, the institutions of government capable of bringing an organized, armed, trained and disciplined force to bear at the decisive time and place are still loyal to the nation.

I'm sure that are people who believe that there are programs and incentives doing just that, and that only people "in the know" are aware of them. I remember my elderly mother claiming that the reason so many convenience stores seem to be run by people from the Middle East or the India area is because the government provides subsidies to help them buy their businesses.
