Ed George Soros and others targetted by Terrorist

https://nypost.com/2018/10/11/eric-holder-when-they-go-low-we-kick-em/

"Former Attorney General Eric Holder said he disagrees with Michelle Obama’s high-minded slogan: “When they go low, we go high.”

“When they go low, we kick ‘em,” the 67-year-old former Obama Administration AG declared during a campaign swing in McDonough Ga., on Sunday. “That’s what the new Democratic Party is about… We’re going to fight for the ideals of the Democratic Party.”

This fella wasn't a Democratic party official, just a Democratic party voter:

https://www.cnn.com/2017/06/14/homepage2/james-hodgkinson-profile/index.html

James T. Hodgkinson, the man identified as shooting a Republican member of congress and four others on Wednesday morning, was a small business owner in Illinois who defined himself publicly by his firm support of Bernie Sanders' progressive politics -- and his hatred of conservatives and President Donald Trump.

This is based on CNN's review of Hodgkinson's Facebook profiles, public records, and three years of impassioned letters to his local newspaper.

"Trump is a Traitor. Trump Has Destroyed Our Democracy. It's Time to Destroy Trump & Co." he posted on his personal Facebook page on March 22.

"Republicans are the Taliban of the USA," he posted in February. Hodgkinson, 66, was married and lived in Belleville, Illinois. He started his own company, JTH Inspections, in 1994 and conducted home inspections and mold/air-quality testing.

Neither party or their party voters has a monopoly on virtue, or sanity.

True, but the Dems you mention, though over the top, are not the POTUS. That makes a huge difference.

People should consider if milquetoast politicians are an optimal equilibrium rather than a sign of weakness.

Especially considering the number of conservatives who insisted Obama was weak on foreign policy. If anything, Obama continues to hold the bar over dimwit 45 despite no longer holding office. And that's just the tip of the ice burg.

Just to be clear, if Comandante-Boor-O has a hunting accident in the WH laundry room I'll shed no tears, but on this very site it is being successfully argued that the Democrats hold no responsibility for any violent acts committed by antifa or any other fellow traveler.

I see a bit of double standard at work, but maybe...

No double standard at all. I've yet to see a single Democratic Congressperson or government official promote violence. You honestly cannot say that about Trump.

Your partial quote of Eric Holder is very misleading as you failed to also quote the rest of what he said that made it clear he did not mean violence or anything illegal. That is lying by omission.

As for James T. Hodgkinson, again: no Democratic Congressperson or gov't official called for or promoted physical violence against anyone.

That you cannot see the difference is worrying.

Debra Gureghian, Sayoc's former manager said he called himself a white supremacist and a Nazi supporter: "anti-gay, anti-black, "anti-Jew", "anti-Hispanic". She said Sayoc told her she would burn in hell for being a lesbian.

No, not all Trumpers are bigoted and/or racist, but it's no coincidence that those who are bigots and racists support Trump. They see Trump as having those same values.

The false equivalence misses the point. You're posting the tweets of a crazy man. But Trump is actually tweeting the same stuff. Trump is slightly more circumspect than Hodgkinson, but not very much.

Show the Bernie tweets that inspired Hodginkson to act. That would be real equivalence.

Holder took pains to clarify that he wasn't literally calling for violence.

Surely in your work you have seen the danger posed by mass hysteria. Trump is constantly trying to ratchet the hysteria up. I don't think Bernie did that. I don't think Democrats in general are trying to do that. Yes, you may find cases of that but it's not their usual MO. Trump is the one trying to start stampedes.

I think he can see the difference.

I hope such rationalizations are a last-ditch effort to deny the obvious.

It still amazes, but not surprises me, at just how much Trump supporters will contort themselves in order to remove any blame from their Dear Leader.

That is not what they are doing. They are going to such extreme lengths to contort the truth because it is in fact them who is to blame because they elected him.

The greater the lengths they go to defend, the greater their sense of guilt and shame.

Hold on, do we trust her?

Looks like Sayoc is facing up to 58 (fake) years in jail!!

When Michelle Obama said that thing about 'they go low, we go high' she was saying that when the Republicans plays dirty pool, we Democrats maintain the moral high ground and don't stoop to their level.

So when Eric Holder says that Michelle is wrong and that when the Republicans go low, the new Democratic Party response is 'we kick 'em', what does he mean? Is he saying, like, when the Republicans blatantly lie to the public, we Democrats kick 'em with the facts?

No need to wonder what he meant. Watch the clip and keep it rolling onto his next couple sentences where he points out that it is not violence that he is talking about.

Just don't bother trying to find that part of his talk on a Conservative source!

I disagree. People, once they've made their minds up about something, tend not to question its validity past that determination point. They simply ignore any contradicting evidence and double down. That is what we see them doing, including here in this thead.

One mans says the earth is flat and another says it is a sphere. Both men are wrong, but not equally wrong.

There's an Asimovism about this...

"..when people thought the earth was flat, they were wrong. When people thought the earth was spherical, they were wrong. But if you think that thinking the earth is spherical is just as wrong as thinking the earth is flat, then your view is wronger than both of them put together."

I prefer the Stuartism: (from Big Bang Theory)

"It's a little wrong to say a tomato is a vegetable. It's very wrong to say it's a suspension bridge."
