Let me start by applauding law enforcement for swiftly catching one of the alleged perpetrators behind these recent acts of terrorism. I hope that he and anyone else who had any involvement in these grotesque attacks are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
This is personal for me because I know firsthand what it is like to be targeted and terrorized by a coward with a vendetta. Back in February I opened an envelope intended for my husband Don, which covered my face, hands and clothing in white powder and left me terrified.
I was rushed to the hospital, evaluated and put on Cipro for the longest two weeks of my life, and while they worked to identify whether the white powder was deadly, I spent the entire time thinking about the horrifying possibility that I would never see my 5 beautiful children again.

As a practical matter, package/mail bombs that have detonated or have been intercepted, rendered safe and examined come in two basic initiation types, both mechanical.

Most common is some type of obsolete military booby-trap pressure release or improvised equivalent.

The second is an improvised fuse-ignition device.

Neither are particularly reliable and can be accidentally initiated during shipment.

Mail bombs are for amateurs.

Popular fiction is full of remote detonation/timer jive when depicting improvised exord.

Real world? most common IED detonation technique where it's an almost everyday occurance is a spotter telling a guy to touch the hot wire to the positive side post on a battery (ground wire already attached to the negative side.)

The "but he's a lone nutcase" excuse doesn't work for ridding Trump of a lot of the blame. Mentally healthy people are not going to do what Sayoc did no matter what their politics are. It's precisely because Sayoc appears to have some mental problems that he responded to, as so beautifully mentioned earlier, Trump's version of "will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?"

It still amazes, but not surprises me, at just how much Trump supporters will contort themselves in order to remove any blame from their Dear Leader.

Any source that dares criticize Trump or fails to show him in a generally positive light is "Fake news" to him. Aside from FOX and right wing extremist sites, that's just about any news source.
