In what way can recusing yourself from an investigation hurt the law? Even in a general hypothetical sense?

If there's a potential conflict of interest isn't recusing yourself what you're supposed to do? That's why there is such a thing as recusal in the first place.

Just to let you know, 'logger' has been suspended for three months due to violations of the Membership Agreement that we all promised to uphold. So it will be a good while before he can make a public response to your excellent questions.

However, if it is important to you, then you can make use of the Private Message Tool to send 'logger' a response request: this tool can still be used with Members who are currently on Suspension status.

Sessions is really showing off true Christian virtues by turning the other cheek as the President he serves under relentlessly bashes him on twitter. Trump really wants him to resign for one or more reasons but he forgets that Sessions is on a mission from God.

Only one: to replace him with someone who'll fire Mueller. I'm guessing at some point last week Trump finally gave Sessions a direct order and got a direct response, and that was all she wrote.

but the person who fires Mueller will make his own position untenable.
Basically, Trump wants Sessions to resign, hire a person who fires Mueller and then resigns himself.
Then he can hire someone "clean".

People are stupid but probably not that stupid.

Sounds plausible, if we are willing to believe that Trump is capable of strategy beyond random outburst of emotion. But what idiot would be willing to serve as the new Attorney General just to be a fall guy? And if that happens, I would love Wray, once functioning as head of the FBI, to press ahead in the investigation of Trump and colleagues.

They did vote for trump and still support him so it seems not unlikely to play well with the base.
 
We know the Russia investigation is a witch-hunt because Trump bombed Syria. Case closed. Now let's return to the business of the American people, which means banning transgender people from the military and making ridiculous speeches to the youth (remember Obama's "Hitleresque" address to school children, where he told them to work hard and be good citizens? Instead Obama should've bragged about his EC victory and whined about his political rivals).

Guiliani, Christie, Sheriff Joe, or any number of Trump's New York cronies. Heck, the way they have kissed his *** since he insulted them in the primaries I'm sure Cruz, Rubio, Huckabee or Paul would be happy to take the position.
