Below are some quotes from an article that was in Vanity Fair magazine twenty-six years ago:

I wouldn't consider him for any public office much less the highest one in the land. He's about the least trustworthy guy I can imagine.
The comment, Marla Lago, was made during an impromptu cable TV interview at the US Open tennis matches in Forest Hills Queens. This was one of Maples first public appearances since the news of her romance with Trump became public and Trump had several staffers on-hand to keep an eye on her. They told her she "didn't have to do the interview," but Marla said she wanted to do the interview -- in the stands during the tennis match -- because she "hates to disappoint anyone."

Better yet, Trump should just mock up a tax return that makes it look like he paid all of his taxes, contributed lots of money to charity anonymously, and checked the box to give $3 to the Presidential campaign fund, and then release it. Somebody somewhere would have to break the law to prove it's a fraud, which would undermine the claim that it's a fraud.
It's not really such a novel idea I guess. Obama did it with his birth certificate.
Along with using his time machine to go back and get a fake birth announcement planted in the newspapers.
That's the only reason he got away with it.

On another thread, it's pointed out that CNN made an error - it was not the microphone, but something in the audio processing going to the speakers in the hall. So what was heard on TV was apparently not affected.

Man, Trump has taken the bait on this Alicia Machado thing SO HARD it's hilarious. It's like he can't help it! He literally CANNOT ignore a slight and doesn't care in the least about "punching down". If a baby gave him a funny look he'd probably go off on a diatribe about the kid.
How ironic is it that he is accusing her of appearing in a "sex tape" (she wasn't really) when his own wife was in nudie pictures? And Trump himself has appeared in a soft porn video (not, thankfully in a state of undress, but he was in a Playboy video). He also likes to talk publicly about his extramarital affairs, even calling up reporters as "John Barron" to spread rumors about his own dalliances. But she's "disgusting" for appearing in a "sex tape".
But the beautiful thing is he's doing it to himself. He took the bait hook, line and sinker and he's thrashing around on that hook like crazy!

Another stunning bit of hypocrisy is Trump slamming Hillary for disparaging Bill's "bimbos", while simultaneously smearing "disgusting" Machado, and smearing her with a non-existant sex tape.

I don't think that the die-hard Trump supporters have the capacity to think that far ahead. Yellow dog Republicans are probably using that so that they can hold their noses and rationalize voting for him.

The Pubies supporting Trump and gambling with the future of this country no doubt expect him to rubber stamp all their policies. There is no doubt in my mind they are hoping for puppet POTUS.
His followers, OTOH, actually like what they see.

Of course he would. He would provide no leadership of his own. In fact, he would be mostly disengaged from all but a couple of issues that would benefit him the most. Other than that, he'd be a puppet of the right. And they know it.

It makes you wonder what kind of woman/person would make that comment, even to friends, about the married man she was dating. For starters, it implies she'd had plenty of sex partners with which to compare The Don.
Possibly even worse, many people believed it was all smoke and mirrors, the previous guy she'd been living with was an ex-New York City cop who was eking out a living as a bit player in movies. That The Don could have been impotent and Maples would still say it, this was her chance at a sugar daddy and she was going to do whatever she had to do to land him.
