Yes, it happened hours ago, though. It was their regularly scheduled flight. A third was supposed to be on the flight but didn't show. Those three and Lochte were the four that claimed to have been together.

I personally don't ascribe anything to the laughing and joking. When the adrenaline goes up because of a violent episode, you don't react normally.

I personally dislike when people say "I would never act like that!" Half the time, they have no idea how they would act, and it is irrelevant anyway.
 
The annoying thing with online news is no one seems to verify things are right before reporting them as facts anymore.

It's been on the news in various places for almost a full day. The AP picked up on it before the Daily Mail. The Daily Mail article is linked in the OP. You can find a few dozen references to it on the web - even Perez Hilton speculating that it's because Lochte was stepping out on his girlfriend. Not that I'd give any of it all that much credibility, but it's kinda weak sauce to blame other posters for speculating, when you were contributing speculation and hadn't actually read any of the background.

It's a sports-related thread, so I'd like to admire your goalpost shift there.

Your claim was that he wouldn't be doing drugs as he's a top athlete in the competitive phase of his life. But Phelps's bong thing was just a few months after he'd snaffled a bunch of golds at Beijing and was taking a break, so why not these guys?

Plainly a case of missing time. I suspect alien involvement. From what I've heard, the Olympics this year is chock-full of aliens. This also explains why their property wasn't taken - the aliens merely planted false memories.

The important thing now is to do hypnotic memory recovery and check their rectums for signs of probing. This will reveal all.

I don't hold with fanciful tales of human impersonation. That's just crazy talk.

However, with competing explanations for what actually happened, we shouldn't be too quick to take alien visitation off the table. They are probably following up on their Zika experiment.

If I had access to the raw data - any airport scans - I could see if there were implants. (Which, by the way, was the whole point of putting that "security theater" in place.) Until we see the available scans, we can't actually prove it was aliens, but the possibility can't be rejected either.

Why swimmers? Good question. It suggests a water-world scenario and Europa. Again, still highly speculative. More questions than answers at this point.
 
Okay, so the NYT version has him recanting his "put a gun to my forehead" and saying it was pointed at him.

The timeline is still uncertain, but the sequence of events he's claiming is that they took a taxi, that while en route they asked the driver to stop at a gas station so they could pee, and that when they got back to the cab, that's when the assailant(s) robbed them.

So the gas station that the Daily Mail sent a stringer to investigate is likely not even the one they're claiming they stopped at.
