I expect Clinton to continue the "Morning in America" theme, which has been so prevalent the last couple days, and which the GOP stupidly ceded to the Democrats. The optimistic party usually trumps the party of doom and gloom. But what else could the GOP do? They've nominated a candidate who preaches fear, hate, and divisiveness, so that was the theme of their convention. The last time that worked out for a party was Nixon, and I'm too young to remember if Nixon's campaign was even half as bad as Trump's.

In the end, I don't think Trump's message will sell, I think the Dem's will, and Clinton will get a decent convention bounce in the polls.

Plus, the primaries saw Rubio bring it out as a Morning In Mordor ad, so they really can't play it anymore.

I have not found Hillary to be a particularly inspirational speaker. So this really needs to be a fantastic speech and she needs to knock it out of the park, to get a decent post-convention bump.

I disagree to a point, all Hillary needs to do is make a good speech and not screw it up.
I don't think the election hinges, in the long run, on the accepteence speeches anyway.

They also prepared the statement in advance as it went out during Obama's speech. It's more of the I know you are but what am I strategy Donald likes.

Empty rhetoric? Typical of the Rove Playbook: take the issue your accusers have against you and accuse the accusers of the same, even though the issue is indeed true for you and never has been true for the accusers.

I would normally agree, except for the bump the GOP got after the Trump speech, which was very well done. I think she at least needs a tie there. The rest of the Trump disasters would then take care of the rest of the point spread.

Hmmm, Nixon and Trump parallels? Nixon was ousted for secretly hiring burglars to spy on the DNC. Trump has publicly asked Russia to spy on the DNC.

Sorkin is the best.

"An American President"
"A Few Good Men"
"Charlie Wilson's War"
"The West Wing"

Does it get any better?
As an aside, I have an old friend who's a Navy lawyer. He once related to me that when he watched "A Few Good Men" his mouth was literally (not figuratively) open in disbelief at the glaring misrepresentation of his profession and its relevant procedures.

And don't get my old submariner Chief of the Boat pal started on "The Hunt for Red October."

Actually, Nixon's 1968 Campaign was no darker them most;lots of attacks on the Democrats, but heavy emphasis on "But We Can Fix It". Not nearly as bad as the Trump campaign.
The really dark stuff with Nixon begun AFTER he was in the White House.

And I suspect that "The West WIng" took a lot of liberties with how the White House operates also.

But Sorkin is still,at his best, one Hell of a writer.

Actually Germans' taste for Chocolate grew in the colonial period in the late Nineteenth Century when it greatly developed its cocoa production at the expense of native foodstuffs for the indigenous population.

It was indeed a "bitter" harvest.
Not so bitter, because in 1828, Dutch entrepreneur Van Houten had invented a process to extract the cocoa butter, still today called the "Dutch process".

Oh, and German chocolate cake isn't named after the country, but after the creator, a guy named German.

BTW, which German colony(ies) would that be you refer to?

Except then, that during the campaign, he incited the South Vietnamese delegation to sabotage the Paris talks on armistice or peace in Vietnam. A success in those talks could have earned Humphrey, as sitting VP, a victory in the election.

Bernie Bros drowned out during General Allen's speech.

Ouch, Chelsea is bringing down the room big time.

She has dead eyes, like dolls eyes.

I've seen better speeches at wedding receptions.

Shocking to see that your fanatical hatred of Hillary extends to her daughter.
