What you omit is that the British government left the area a powder keg and never once tried to bring about an amenable resolution (Hell, Yitzhak Rabin recalls how in Mandatory Palestine during the 1930s, the region was on the brink of a violent civil war). This wasn't helped by locking out Jews who were fleeing Nazi Germany. Meanwhile, the Grand Mufti goes to the Waffen SS and acts as a recruiting Sergeant for them. And your idea of "honourably and peacefully" behaving against genocidal Arab armies who waged a war of aggression (led by said Waffen SS recruiting Sergeant) would have been them being put to the sword without a fight. Meanwhile, "hope for peace" was practically on life support by 1973 and six feet under by the time of Saddam Hussein. As for the ISM, they condemn Israel as being the Fourth Reich, but are suspiciously silent when other Arab countries treat Palestinians worse (When Israel offered to cede Gaza to Egypt and WB to Jordan, they refused, for some reason).

You haven't read the links I provided, have you?

Maybe if you really want to be a positive influence, you should join the people at Jewish Voice For Peace and stop white washing the Israeli state with your uncritical support and your propagating of its propaganda.

Really, check it out. It's a positive movement!

I have already stated in this thread that it is a common trait of every democracy to have those who disagree with their governments decisions.

I have already acknowledged those people. I myself have not stated that Israel is perfect but that the rest of the world has much to learn from her and benefit from Her technological innovations.

Unless those people at Jewish Voice For Peace are against the State of Israel and live elsewhere, I do not see the relevance of your statement in relation to my positive endorsement of The State of Israel.

Do you understand the sheer WILL behind the statement NEVER AGAIN? If so, you should be able to understand why pacifism is not the preferred route of the general population, surround as they are by other human beings who want their presence wiped off the face of the earth.

I do not know exactly why you are leaning so heavily toward the side of CTers in relation to supposed Israeli State agenda but essentially if you are in positive support of Israels achievements in the face of gross hostilities over the decades since they returned to the land of their roots, you would give those things as much thought as you seem to be doing in relation to the more negative ones. (which by the way I have not denied have existed and do exist).

So yes, there are many who do not approve of their present government but as said, that is the nature of democracy. I am sure they are not advising removing all Israeli presence from Israel and returning the land to the desert but if they are then they probably don't fully understand what being an Israeli actually signifies.

And if not - if they are wanting to retain the State of Israel then they best be prepared to continue not liking some of the decisions of whatever government they get because that government is going to have to make hard decisions regarding warfare because the leadership of those surrounding countries are not predisposed to anything other than hating the idea of The State of Israel and that is a matter of fact.

Another matter of fact is that Israel isn't going anywhere - isn't going to shut itself down and move on. She is their for the long haul for better or worse, depending on what those who hate her decide to do and what means they have at their disposal to do so.

But you confuse me asydhouse - you say we are all simply brain processes yet you are obviously emotionally attached to what you perceive as injustices implemented by those very processes...what does it really matter then? What is the point of morality being involved with the process other than as a possible means of keeping that process alive and viable in an otherwise pointless existence?

It is extremely interesting that a simple process evolved into a rather complicated one - perhaps the CTers are more correct than not...and their motives for believing what they do are based in morality and the need to move away from the evolutionary drive of the survival of the strongest to that of nurturing the weakest...and somehow either getting rid of the evil elements operating in powerful positions and bringing in a new age of humanity where all are equal...

Meanwhile in the real world that is not what appears to be happening, but granted - appearances can by misleading...which is why I am looking more closely at Israel and the way She works for herself first and then others (Her friends) from the solid foundations of Her own successes. "What gems might be found therein?" I wonder...

NGO Monitor on JVP org.

I would say that the collective consciousness of humanity will continue to direct the unfolding events regardless of the obvious 'movements' within its 'parts' with in mind that it wants to continue the experience of existing and will find the best way of making sure that happens.

Interpret that any way you like and support what you will. There is always pain and sacrifice involved in the natural evolution of human consciousness and the gaining of a foothold in the hostile and oft violent environment of this universe.

I think Israel is doing okay - even better than okay - for the short amount of time She has been a Nation since the Diaspora and is contributing positively to at least help human consciousness get that foothold.

Who is advocating tattooing people? In the case of the Israeli Government classifying its citizens having a different style of birth date on their ID card is deemed sufficient.

Personally I have some issues with the current Likud coalition government that sort of precludes me from putting them on a pedestal and worshiping their brilliance.

Unless you are relying on some form of genetics quite unknown to me I fail to see any relationship between birth/death or other dates and genetics. And if race is what is hinted at (though I assume not) then it makes no sense since the Jew and Arabs (related) are all semitic to the extent old classifications of races still function/are used.

Any thoughts on this concept? :)

Induces boredom, is basic "whole world in it's hand" style drivel unless I am really missing something. And I do not think so!!!!!!!

Yes well it appears that something said thousands of years ago came to pass as far as many Israelis believe. There may be a batter explanation?

It is interesting how hate can blind a person to the facts...

"The day the PLO’s spokeswomen lost her mind on live TV!"

Dianna Buttu, a Canadian lawer whose Muslim Arab parents emigrated from Israel to Canada, has a long history of on-air fabrications. Her many non-truths are actually laughable. In 2008 and 2009, she insisted on CNN and Fox News, that rockets fired from Gaza into Israeli civilian centers did not have explosive heads, in clear contradiction of the the 20 to 40 pounds of explosives found on each rocket. At a 2012 conference in Harvard, she asserted that 1996 to 2000 were actually the most secure years in Israel’s history, when, in fact, dozens of Israelis were murdered by Palestinian suicide bombers during those years.
