:D But they aren't mellow and convincing like Curatolo.

Made me remember the PG guy that went to Perugia made a bunch of giggly video, put plastic flowers on the cottage gate and looked into Curatolo's eyes and knew he was a good man. Lucky for him the cops weren't watching or he might have been busted when he gave Curatolo 5 Euro.

Give the guy a break. He was not a junkie bum. He was a Christian Anarchist who believed he had a right to get high, if he wanted to.

Come on ACbyTesla,
It's time to get real, the Marco + the tramp's statements were bogus!!!

Neither reported what they saw when 1st questioned by police,
and Curatolo was questioned the very day Miss Kercher was found raped + murdered.

It was almost 1/2 a year later for Antonio and only about 1 year later for Marco to come forward at the behest of a journalist (to help Mignini's theory), who just so happened to have been a long time friend of Marco's and lived next door to his shop:

Perugia Shock
Jan. 15, 2009:
<snip>
Just by coincidence the journalist who found him is a friend of him for decades and lives next door to his store. In other words the same journalist who for one year has been bothering all pushers and homeless people of the park, the one that has been buzzing at all doors around via della Pergola needed one year to know something from his old friend Marco whose store is just next door...

Go to The Documents Section on the left side +
read the English translation transcripts of The Massei Trial
with both Marco Quintavalle + Antonio "Toto" Curatolo testimony,
it was complete bullcrap, tragically too sad, for Amanda, Raff + Justice for Meredith...

Amanda + Raff are FREE now,
it's time, in my humble opinion,
to call bull^^^^ what it is when we see it right in front of us...
:)

Does anyone know the name of this rookie journalist?

Did Giacomo lawyer up immediately?

Giacomo received a call from Filomena whilst on the train back to Perugia with another of his roomates from downstairs. I don't know about lawyering up immediately, but one or both of the boys had so much trepidation about meeting up with the police alone in Perugia that they got off the train one stop before Perugia. From the station in Foligno, they called a university professor of theirs to come advise them. Then all three took the train to Perugia together. In Perugia, both boys called their parents and waited for their parents to arrive from their hometowns to join them before presenting themselves to the Perugia police for questioning.

That's how nervous Giacomo and Stefano were about meeting PLE alone. If their parents were similarly concerned enough to leave their homes well over 2 hours away by car (from Porto San Giorgio, and much longer if by train) and accompany their sons in person to the police station, then they were probably concerned enough to contact lawyers as well.

I'd also love to read the questions asked of them by PLE.

We actually performed basically this same experiment in college. People make atrocious witnesses. And what is really interesting is cops and detectives know this.

That's true. Is anyone familiar with the video clip of a basketball team, wherein the aim is to count how many times the ball bounces on the ground. By a trick of the mind, noone sees the guy dressed up as a bear in the middle of it all!

OTOH, of course eyewitness accounts and identification parades come with an unreliability factor. However, eye witnesses often do remain useful evidence.

I just luv reading of the little tidbits of info that Perugia Shock reported back in the day,
which most newspapers and articles never really mentioned...

Hey Vixen,
ya still readin' my posts?

Here's a nice snippet of 1 for ya,
gosh I found it in the old PS link above in my last post to ACbyTesla!:

Nothing really new for the moment. Nothing has been proven and the objections are still on the table. With the occasion let's look at the quoted Rudy's testimony.

Guede: I touched this person on his shoulder and this person turned around on the left... and he had a knife in his hand.
PM: In his left hand?
Guede: Yes, in his left hand.
PM: And how was this knife?
Guede: To say the truth I didn't see how was it, but I had the signs of it on me. He had a black jacket, I've noticed the logo Napapjiri, which is unmistakable, and he was wearing a white cap with a red stripe. And turning around suddenly... I thought of running away, I mean of stepping back an defending myself in some way... I've been injured.
PM: What did struck you of this person?
Guede: His cheek-bones. They were evident. I don't mean huge but you could see they were big.

Does anyone recognize in this left-hand Neanderthal man the right-hand and chubby-faced Raffaele Solecito?

So, it seems that Rudy himself exonerates Raffaele. Rudy had plenty of time to come to know if Raffale was right or left-hand, and had seen enough pictures of him, none of which showed the particular cheek-bones he described.

Perhaps Raf was wearing the same Manga mask he had on walking into town on Halloween ;)

Quite sure they were only given a few hours and as is becoming apparent my memory isn't too bad on this :p

You are remembering this now, 7 years later??? What were they telling us on this board 4 hours ago about old memories? :p I'd tell you myself, but I can't recall it.

Yeah, but not high as a kite smack addicts six months after an event when one day after an event they don't remember a thing. Did you see the list of symptoms?

Did this same journalist also find Nara, the half deaf elderly lady?

Any other witnesses? It would be interesting to see a complete list of witnesses, who found them , and when. (and by what means - thoroughly canvassing a scene, or one on one long after the fact).

Speaking of which, how is defense witness, mafioso, "Lucy" Aviello, getting on? Knickers not too tight, we hope ;)

Lovely to get his claimed €104K from Avv Bongiorno for the sex change in exchange for false testimony. How is her suit for defamation coming on?

Ah, I see. Not pursuing it. Lmao.

another side-effect is holding views that cannot be changed by facts

Give the guy a break. He was not a junkie bum. He was a Christian Anarchist who believed he had a right to get high, if he wanted to.
Vixen,

Heroin has many side-effect, most of which we listed here yesterday. They include night-blindness and confusion over dates and times. it is irrelevant what anyone thinks of Alessi as a witness when assessing Curatolo as a witness.

Tell me, what is your opinion of witness for the defence, Alessi?

Alessi testified in The Massei Trial?
Heck, I thought not even Judge Micheli had heard of him.

BUT they heard of or from "the tramp".
And believed his load of crap...
Right?

Isn't it also a crime in Italy to encourage others to give false testimony to a judge or investigator? Couldn't this cub reporter Mr Fois, be looking at a legal case himself? Shouldn't he be? And probably Quintavale too. Curatolo has made his escape, and Nara doesn't know where she is, and so could only be tried in a kind of absentia.

Motivation report in June. Then an investigation, indictments, trials & convictions, various retractions and apologies. At some point the calunnia is reversed (though I'm still hoping/betting/claiming that cassation will knock it down of their own accord in June). And then, all goes back to normal. Until the next case.

Could be the next John Reed (of Ten Days that Shook the World Fame).

ISC decreed the calunnia stood, but reduced the sentence. They cannot renege on their verbal/written judgment

The defense would need to make an application to dismiss the case due in June.

If it wants a pardon, not sure of the process, but I expect it would need to come from PM Renzi, or similar.

You think Curatolo a lousy witness.

Tell me, what is your opinion of witness for the defence, Alessi?

Actually, I don't think he is a very good witness either. But obviously for other reasons .

Come on, Vixen,
give me the real truth,
you've mentioned that you've read a buncha books on this case we discuss, right?

What was it?
Raff was at his brother-in-law's (* - what's his name again) party?
Or was Raff out + about in town on Halloween night?

Useful doesn't necessarily mean accurate or reliable. Sadly misidentification by witnesses is the cause of wrongful convictions than any other reason.

I really can't imagine either Curstolo or Quintavalle even being allowed by a judge to testify in a US court. Not only are their stories produced far after the events, they had been questioned by the police immediately following the murder.

You've misunderstood. The Calunia case was not before the Marasca court and they couldn't address it. What was before the court was the aggravation. They struck this down.

So, it's not correct to say they reduced the sentence. On the matter before them, they threw it out.

The ECHR will deal with Calunia, probably within two years. Then it will go back to Italy for annulment.

Calunia pardon or exoneration

Amanda's father reportedly told her her family will not rest until she is cleared of all charges.

I hope the ECHR takes up the calunia conviction and orders Italy to repair it. A pardon from the executive is not the same as an exoneration from the Italian Supreme Court.

A pardon, for example, might not result in financial compensation for the 3 years spent in prison on that conviction. An exoneration would probably result in financial remedy.

The Italian judiciary should disown the interrogation and the product it produced. A judicial ruling should state that she is innocent of calunia, and that the interrogation was staged by police to deceive her own free will and that she was not informed that she was a suspect or provided with a lawyer.

Greetings,
If any of you have had the time to read the links from Old Perugia Shock about The Knife, that I recently posted links to,
you too might wonder why Dr. Stefanoni did not force the machine to take some alleles out at all costs,
like she did with The Knife.

What am I talkin' about?:

A Carabiniere to save Raffaele Sollecito and Amanda Knox
MARSHALL, MY MARSHALL
The mystery of the broken window

<snip>
In addiction to this the consultant remembered that a stain of presumed blood substance with a hair formation was found on the window, trying to suggest that the intruder injured himself against the latch. The chemical analysis didn't sort anything. For some reason Dr Patrizia/Mrs Stefanoni didn't outdo herself this time. Apparently the beautiful biologist this time didn't force the machine to take some alleles out at all costs. Just by coincidence, it was black hair.

Hmmmm,
black hair found in blood on Filomena's windowsill,
and Dr. Stefanoni won't turn up the dials,
so to say, to ID it or the blood?

Was it negroid hair,
as I seem to recall reading?
Was this why the cops were soooo interested in a black man.
1 named Patrick Lumumba, Amanda's boss?

And so they arrested him in the early morning hours,
(after interrogating Amanda overnight, before, as they cops knew, her Mother was due to arrive),
and interrogated him without a lawyer present,
hit him and threatened him with 30 years imprisonment.

Why does this passage that I'll quote from B. Nadeau's book,
that we discussed here years ago back in 2010,
just 6 months after Raff+ AK were convicted,
bother me still?

Because Raffaele was confusing the nights of Oct. 31 + Nov 1st?

Or that he notes that Amanda told the cops,
days earlier before The Interrogation,
of Lumumba's text message sayin' not to come to work the night Miss Kercher was murdered?

"I went home on my own. Amanda said she was going to Le Chic because she wanted to see some friends. That's when we said goodbye. I went home, smoked a joint and had dinner, but I can't remember what I ate."
He also couldn't remember Amanda being around, although she had told police, days earlier, that when Patrick Lumumba sent her a text message telling her not to come to work, she went straight over to Raffaele's and spent the entire evening there.

* * *

I always found it odd how the cops just substituted 1 black man for another,
while keeping the story basically the same,
it's kind of like they were looking for a black man,
all along,
right?

It's not OK to quote the TIMES but Perugia Shock is an academic source, eh?

IIRC the hair strands of Mez, Amanda, Rudy and Raf (presumed) were found on a sponge in Raf's apmt after the murder.

Enquiring minds need to know how they got there.
