...You'd think that these days especially a person who is seriously trying to convince people that a bigfoot exists...

You can't use rational thought to explain what bigfooters do. Remember, BLAARGers aren't really "seriously trying to convince people that a bigfoot exists". They're serious about the game, but they know they are making it up. When a perfect opportunity to PROVE FOOTIE occurs, there's always an excuse for why it didn't happen. Film runs out, batteries die, the wrong button gets pushed.....when all else fails, the BLAARGer's SOP answer is "I'm not trying to convince anyone else, I KNOW they exist. I just want to study them". IOW "I'm not trying to prove Bigfoot to anyone - so I didn't take a good picture."

I believe Chris's "Hillside Video" has been discussed previously. I think the first photo on his site is a clip from it. Chris took a video of what he claims was Footie, but instead of sticking around or getting close enough for a definitive video, he "Backs out of here" in order to "Not disturb" the Footie. NL has the batteries go dead in his infared just as footie is in the crosshairs AND the record button didn't work....

I can understand, though, why you wouldn't want to disturb a 12 foot monster that's six feet high when sitting, especially from 51 feet away. If it got any closer, you'd cut its head off in the picture!

It appears to be an adult and a juvenile given their relative sizes.

Carlitos, yes, as I mentioned, one should be very careful in Kentucky if one looks like some branches. Hunters wearing this stuff should beware: stay out of Kentucky.

RE: the hillside video, that was one of the two videos shot during that encounter. It was a multiple witness encounter with one of the witnesses being my friend's young son. With the young boy with us we decided to back away from the family group as we did not know the outcome of approaching them.

If I could go back in time and do it all again, I guess I could have sent my friend and his son back down the trail and approached the family group alone. However, that would mean approaching a group of wild animals similar to great apes without having any idea of how they might react. Possibly a death wish. It would have made for a more interesting video at any rate. Chris B.

That's the hatch for escaping those squatches! The more you magnify the picture, the more there are. I think the ones from Whitehall, N.Y. are spreading!

Actually, as you probably figure, it's one of those wind-powered roof ventilators. I picked it up somewhere and it spends time in various places in the yard as a kind of rough wind indicator and lawn ornament. The apple tree has been dying piece by piece for decades like Tasso's oak, and after the main part died off, I needed something to put on the stump. We haven't the heart to cut down the whole tree, which dates back around 150 years, and the last part is held up by a metal crutch. Alas, it has cedar apple rust. A goner.
