I don't think this has much of an effect on North Korea. It does indicate China's disatisfaction with the regime.

I still believe that the only reasons China doesn't force a regime change is North Korea is they don't want to deal with the mess to clean up left by the "Dear Leader" and his kin.

Does someone see something more significant in this move with China?

Kim Jong-un's brother has met with some terrible misfortune in Malaysia and is now dead. There are some rumors that Kim will not be upset about this.

It was just an overreaction to the vaccine he received as a part of Malaysian airport surprise vaccination program.

North Korea under Kim Jong Un is probably highly volatile. An older brother could serve as a rallying point to those opposed to the blob of fat that serves as their divine leader, and he was a somewhat viable replacement if something were to happen to the said blob of fat. That threat is now removed.

Gotta wonder if this is Kim Jong-un's sense of humour.

To be fair, him being a blob of fat is almost surely part of a deliberate attempt to resemble portraits of Kim Il-sung.

From BBC Report

An Indonesian woman held over the killing of Kim Jong-un's half-brother thought she was taking part in a TV prank, police say.

Tito Karnavian, Indonesia's most senior policeman, said the two women had already performed the prank on other men. It involved convincing the men to close their eyes before spraying them with water.

"Such an action was done three or four times and they were given a few dollars for it, and with the last target, Kim Jong-nam, allegedly there were dangerous materials in the sprayer," Mr Karnavian told reporters.

"She was not aware that it was an assassination attempt by alleged foreign agents."

North Korea meanwhile has demanded that Malaysia immediately release the body of Kim Jong-nam.

The North Korean ambassador to Malaysia said his country had not consented to the post-mortem carried out on the dead man's body and would categorically reject its findings.

A Manchurian candidate of a sort? Almost plausible. I reference to the umbrella assassination. Sometimes bizarre Holywood plots actually happen in real life. And indeed movies are sometimes inspired by real life.

In this particular case, I am reserving judgment. It is certainly an interesting development.

Chine puttjng pressure on NK

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-39015529

China is suspending all imports of coal from North Korea as part of efforts to increase pressure on the country over its latest missile test.

China's commerce ministry said the ban would operate until the end of 2017.

It follows reports last week that China had rejected a shipment of North Korean coal worth $1m (£806,000; €942,100).

The ban brings China, North Korea's only ally, closer to fully implementing tough sanctions aimed at stopping Pyongyang's nuclear weapons programme.

Coal is North Korea's biggest export, with its shipments to China a mainstay of the country's fragile economy.

This is difficult to understand and believe. The assassin is not told that she will immediately die if she accidentally gets any of the liquid on her skin.

Is she wearing protective gear? Is that also true for the person that hands her the substance and then takes it from her afterwards?

She says it's a routine for a TV show. So then there were cameras and microphones pointed at her actions?

I can't make sense of it as a murder plot.

If this guy could be persuaded to close his eyes by two strange Asian babes at an airport he wasn't long for this world in any case.

I admit that I'm totally fascinated by North Korea. It boggles my mind that such a place even exists. The unnecessary human tragedy also boggles the mind and I have a very intense hope to see this tragedy end in my lifetime. With the transition of power to Kim Jung-Eun, this reality is likely to happen sooner or later. Kim Jung Sung accomplished many things, was a prolific writer, was famous and charismatic. Kim Jung-Eun is young, unaccomplished, inexperienced, and relatively unknown to North Koreans and the cult of personality propaganda machine has its work laid out for them.
Some of the things that have recently happened in NK that hint at change are the murders of four officials in Cheogjin and anti regime flyers being distrusted in the same town.
My vote is for a coup but I think it could play out many other ways but I'm confident collapse is going to happen

**** it.

I say INVADE North Korea.

If there is any regime that needs a good ol' fashioned air, land, and sea ass whooping it's the one operating in NK.
